Piardi with some seriously questionable calls in the last few minutes there. Glasgow deserved winners. I'm more and more convinced that Leinster gameplan of last year would have had them in the final.

    Fair play Glasgow. Deserve it.

Fair play Glasgow. Beat Stormers at home, beat zMunster away, beat Bulls away. They beat all 3 the previous finalists on their way to the title.

**** brilliant! What a win, congrats to Glasgow

Not sure that's a fair reflection of Glasgow's performance

Fair f*cks to Glasgow. 13-0 down after 40 minutes and coming back to win at altitude is serious going.

    Great game. Well done Glasgow.

    Roll on September 21st!

Congrats Glasgow. A well earned win.

Has Josh McKay got an Irish granny? He's some player!

Unreal effort from glasgow in that second half. Game started to swing in their favour when Cameron Hanekom when off injured

Delighted for Glasgow Warriors, especially with the Nigel Carolan connection, if anyone at Connacht/IRFU has any sense he will be back in Galway at the end of next season, when the Wilkins car crash comes to an end.

Hard to believe Glasgow have won more than Leinster in the last three years given their respective personnel and resources.

Great for the URC. All 3 finals have been in SA, which shows what they’ve brought it be the league, but they’ve just the one title down there.

Glasgow were brilliant. So battling. Like Munster last year. Class.

    Delighted for Glasgow. Serious resilience.

He's been terrific all season. I presume he's a kiwi with Scots ancestors?

Bulls could have played their final last week imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,207 ✭✭✭KaneToad

Lots of Scots have Irish heritage too. One never knows.

“Five generations ago, my grandparents’ grandparents came across from Scotland, so there is a bit of McKay heritage over here if you go up the family tree, but that’s not enough to qualify and I’m not here for that,” he said.

Phenomenal achievement from Glasgow.....beating Munster in Thomond...on the plane to high altitude SA and do a number on the Bulls in a hostile 50 odd thousand environment....

Superb result for the URC....Imagine if the welsh could get their act together...

    What a league!

Wish the Welsh would quit hating the league and get behind their teams.

I’m impressed you managed to both sh1t all over Leinster and completely belittle Glasgow’s achievement in just seven words.

    Kudos indeed.

Very happy for Glasgow. Three champions from three countries in three years. No other competition can claim that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,116 ✭✭✭Former Former Former

Anyway, it’s fantastic for the league that every year, we’ve seen that an away knockout game isn’t necessarily a death sentence.

Fair play to Glasgow, they played a very smart game and were well deserving of the victory

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,282 ✭✭✭TheRona

And I wish certain other teams wouldn't field 3rd string lineups for some matches.

Most of the regular season is rubbish, but thankfully the playoffs usually make up for it.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,506 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Apparently Super Rugby can claim that from 2010 to 2012.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,910 ✭✭✭StevenToast

Well said....if you look at the Super Rugby Pacific this year, i think every home team won all their various knockout games.....

    Pointless....

Nope. If that was the case, the Hurricanes would have won the competition, rather than being knocked out in the semis.

How exactly did you come to this conclusion? I've been praising Glasgow in this thread. Leinster were **** last week, and I'd back them to beat either of those teams the majority of the time. The Bulls were poor today, but bar the loss of Le Roux, played largely as they had done last week. Difference being Glasgow were able to adapt and overcome them, whereas Leinster flailed desperately.

Great for the league that we've had three different countries represented as winners during in the first three years. Love to see Wales or Italy get represented as well.
