Non allocated seats for this so just buy a stand ticket and grab a seat that suits you.

Stand tickets are 25e,I'll sell you two for 40e if you like.DM me

    I'm also nervous.

    It's the unknown.

At least with Cork or Monaghan you had a fair idea what to expect.

But it's the fear that Derry will click.

I don't think they have been "keeping their powder dry" or anything, they have just been poor, but they have been to two SFs on the trot, they are not a bad team suddenly.

Plus there is the Mickey Harte factor, more than once, particularly in the league admittedly he has stifled Mayo.

But then again maybe Harte is the problem.

    It's so hard to figure.

Enda McGinley has a piece in RTE today, and he kind of implies that Derry will not be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat the way Harte did with Tyrone back in 2008.

But he also talks about Mayo's tendency to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

    I don't think that's very true.

Since 2011 Mayo have very rarely lost to teams at their level or below them at this stage of the competition.

The obvious outlier is Kildare in 2018 and the 2021 final was a disaster from early on in the game, but in knock out football Mayo have taken care of teams at their level, and certainly never lost games to lesser opposition from a leading position.

MIld but quite breezy day in Castlebar. The wind will likely be a factor so it will be interesting to see how each team deals with it.

Will be on a ferry from Cork to France this evening while the match is on 😬

Have a Mayo jersey on so hopefully will attract the attention of someone with a GAA Go subscription

But then again maybe Harte is the problem.

    Yep I'm fully expecting

    Boland failed with his appeal.

Harte obviously is a wiley auld fox.

    I'm very wary of this game,its a 50/50.

However in 5 championship meetings with Mayo (4 with Tyrone and 1 with Louth) Harte record is played 5 won 1,lost 4.His one win was also just by a point in 2008 when Mayo didn't have a great team.

Also Mayo have never lost a championship game in MacHale Park to anyone outside Connacht.

Mayo need to tear into these boys early on,we can't leave Derry in it coming down the stretch.

This game is impossible to call,im hoping Mayo.

set up in the stand 50 minutes before throwing. Like a chilly wet march evening here.

    Mayo start as named

Very lateral and lethargic in the opening minutes.

But it's probably no surprise with Derry having everyone back.

But they need to find ways to get over that, it's been going on for years.

yep Derry parking the bus but have somehow managed to get themselves 2 points up. Gonna be hard won for mayo

The lack of long kickers in the Mayo team is a big problem. Slow short passing attacks is playing into Derry hands.

Clueless so far. Lucky to be only 3 down

Absolutely dire stuff. We have zero plan against a packed defence. Derry have plenty of width and are clearly running plays versus us all bunched in the middle and playing off the cuff.

McLoughlin an absolute disaster when he has the ball and time to think. McHale looks way off the pace. Reape isn't quick enough under pressure.

Not very hopeful going into the second half.

Mcstay’s obsession with working scores into the scoring zones is the detriment of us.

Attack is way too predictable, need some madness off the cuff play.

He hasn’t figured out how to pay against packed defence, same problem as last year. He needs to go.

Would love to say I'm surprised but I'm not at all.

need to bring on the O’Connors if they are in a fit state but they’d probably only be a marginal improvement…

Why take Aiden off with two and a half minutes left?

Would also like to know. Game in the melting pot is when you need experience on the pitch.

It actually beggars belief. Madness to take him off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,428 ✭✭✭Westernview

OShea may reappear but he is probably tired. I'd hold him until the second half of extra time.

Mayo had 2 attacks near the end to finish it out but coughed up possession.

Bad enough to give Glass the free shot but to allow the rebound and subsequent score is just unforgivable. 2 weeks in a bloody row.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,627 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Crazy decision. He made the same mistake last week. Madness
