    Suck might be a bit harsh, maybe doesn't suit me might be better. They're giving me blisters on the back right heel. They felt relatively comfortable at first, and i figured they'd just need to be broken in, but 10 or so rounds in and its still quite sore after walking a while. These are the ones i got. Pictures have a very narrow heel, which is definitely true.

    I got a pair of footjoy premier (whatever the expensive ones were (I had a voucher)). Took ages to break in, more than 10 rounds but they're great now.

    Picked up Ecco S-Three BOA shoes last week for €150 on a sale in McGuirks. Very comfortable and good grip as well.

    Played Druids glen Tuesday and forgot to bring a sleeve of TP5 out of the box so said I’d pick up a sleeve of Prov1 and a ball marker there , TWENTY FIVE EURO for a sleeve of Prov1’s. Paid for my round and left the pro shop

    Cant beat Under Armour for golf shoes imo. I usually get the ones for around €110

    Golf ball prices (like a lot of other things) are gone out of control unless buying in bulk

    The Adidas Code Chaos once I got about last October were comfortable from day 1. Didn't need any breaking in. Probably most comfortable ones I've ever owned

    I thought the BOA thing would be really gimmicky but it's actually really handy, so quick to take them on and off.

    I got the 3 for 4 in TP5x so 48 for 150 and should do me until early next year. But still, most shops are 15-16 for premium balls, thats a pure money grab

    Getting fit was the best thing I ever did. I ended up with stiffer and higher launching shafts for my irons and it has changed my game. I was using some strongly lofted GI irons before. Dispersion was wild and couldn't hold a green for the life of me but now I'm sticking to it like glue no matter the weather even with a 5 iron. Dropped 4-5 shots over the last couple of casual rounds I've played whilst I've been getting used to them.

    Only way to go. So if you are thinking of it, would recommend it. Can even just head into McGuirks or Halpenny and play about with a few different head/shaft combos on the trackman and see how you go.

    Just went to my club pro, been getting lessons from him so wanted to stick with him as he was very familiar with my swing and how we've been changing it over the past few months.

    I think a lot of people go to the likes of ForeGolf.

    im thinking of getting fitted for some irons, ive never got fitted for any clubs before so im wondering where the best spots to go to are ?? Ive heard good and bad things about fore golf. O’dwyers and carton house seem to be decent by the sound of things. Id rather go somewhere that has grass to hit off as im not a big fan of simulaters…

    In foregolf, you'll be hitting off a mat, but out into a range rather than against a sim.

    I thought the experience was great myself, but it's not cheap.

    McGuirks in Kinsealy will do a fitting too, again off mats, but hitting out into a range too, so you can see the flight.

    I'm pretty sure Carton is the same, hitting off a mat, but out into the range.

    A few clubs will run random fitting days, but usually for specific brands. Castlewarden run then a few times a year and they have a range there with a mix of mats and grass range areas.

    @benny79 did one down Waterford direction I think and was very impressed. Think @Break80 went to the same spot

    spent winter trying to sort out my driving which was killing me all last year. Have it at a much more acceptable level now but I literally cannot hit a green from inside 100 yards. I’ve lost all sense of feel, confidence or whatever with a wedge in my hand. Especially from the fairway. Costing me many shots per round now. Mad game. May get more lessons.

    Happens to us all mate. But I suppose that chase for perfection and contentment in our game is what keeps us all coming back. We are gluttons for punishment.

    A lesson is a good shout but sometimes it could just be a mental thing, especially if it is something you were decent at before. Spend some time on the pitching greens and go back to basics, see how you go.

    I had a lesson in Carton last week. Was just 30 mins, but was pretty good. I've just one thing to focus on for now, regarding my rotation/ball striking. I had so many things going through my head recently (club face, hips, stronger grip etc…), that's nice to be able to focus on one thing for now.

    Played on Saturday night, but was shite bar a few really good shots (including my longest ever drive). To be expected though, and looking forward to getting out again this week if possible.

    Just rock up.

    2.50 for a small bucket of balls (approx 20-25)

    4.50 for a bigger bucket (approx 40-50 balls)

    You don't get tokens in the shop, etc… its just a tap of a card at the dispenser.

    There are mats and grass sections, but no covered bays, so keep an eye on the weather.

    Another strong round from Lauren Walsh, this time in the Scandinavian Mixed which is a shared event with the mens European Tour. A bogey free round of -5 and currently 2 shots off the lead in 3rd place.

    To put the importance of this week into perspective, the prizemoney for 40th place is similar to the money that she won for 4th place in France 2 weeks ago.

    It's a tough job to support yourself on tour working through the minors.

    Played a round with Lauren's dad earlier in the year and he was talking about how hard, and costly it is.

    They ran a fundraiser weekend in Castlewarden for her, and I think somewhere around 20k was raised. I think in her speech afterwards she mentioned that it would maybe get her through maybe 5-6 weeks
