Hyundai have dug up that ad with the talentless cow shouting "LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY ME!" I suppose it suits the obese shitbox it features.

As if everyone in that place would be drinking the same drink.

Big shite Suv! The song is 74 years old though.

The latest Hyundai ad where theres a kids birthday party and the mother just sods off for a drive.

If the husband did that there'd be war. Bonus points for having him studying an empty bottle which may or may not have had wine in same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,445 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

Won't someone think of the children ;-) Suggests being drunk in charge of other peoples kids.

Wake me up when it's all over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,253 ✭✭✭deezell

I assume she polished off the wine as she couldn't cope, then fkd off in the new car, then wraps it around a bollard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166 ✭✭Isthisthingon?

Or , and I fully admit this didn't occur to me at the time - she's off doing an off- licence run.

Either way a wholesome endorsement from Hyundai !

That should be obvious when you are creating an ad for a car, show no alcohol whatsoever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,726 ✭✭✭ollaetta

Oh my suffering Jebus, that RSA ad for E-scooter safety is chronic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,445 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

It might depend if you drink a lot of wine or not ;-) I made an immediate connection that this was a booze run. Seemed even more obvious that the parents needed the alcohol to help them deal with the kids party.

Just checked back to the advert as I wasn't 100% sure and it looks like a wine bottle to me?

Wake me up when it's all over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,253 ✭✭✭deezell

The other meme that's being explored is the disconnect between the couple, like their relationship is adversarial rather than collaborative. Kids birthday parties and car ownership was always a joint venture in my experience, and this sharing was thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable. Now it's all me me me, and her fkng ice cream kona or whatever the fk it is she drives off. Marry your car why don't you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭Kingslayer

I've only ever seen a shortened version. There is no interaction with the guy in it, so it looked like she was just ditching the party and dropping him right in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166 ✭✭Isthisthingon?

Same here I've only ever seen the short version. The longer one adds a smaller bit of context, the jury's out if it is indeed an empty wine bottle or fancy cordial for the kids. I tell you one thing though - it ain't Mi Wadi!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,977 ✭✭✭squonk

It looks like she runs out on the party and the poor dumb husband who doesn’t know what to do with the empty bottles. She’s off to get more but as long as she has her “quiet time”, fúck the Hubble. I’m not even thinking that the bottles are for wine because I wouldn’t expect a responsible company to suggest that a couple in charge of theirs and others kids would be tanked while doing so, let alone heading off on a bitter booze run.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,253 ✭✭✭deezell

The point is she's obviously horrified to be in a kids party, doesn't suit her corporate brand and narcissistic self image. Just Ignore the fact that's she's only there because she has children, well probably just one, won't be going there again! Kids are a lifetime commitment, because they have the grandkids you see, so there's no going back. You man will be hopping into his range rover or lexus fairly soon to dissappear for a while from her and her van. Haha..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 956 ✭✭✭DarkJager21

There's only 1 message they need for that, if the person looks sound treat them like you would any other fucker on the road driving a toy. If however you see a balaclava with the hood up, feel free to annihilate them at 80kph.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭Kingslayer

Now they have another pissy ad. A footballer is taking a penalty but at the last second he runs to the side of the pitch to relieve himself instead.

Sequel to her first ad, why are we being shown this ad when the accident occured in Spain where they drive on the other side of the road and their driver education and policing is totally different to ours, absolute joke of an organisation the RSA. Perhaps they have a 6 part deal on the ad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,253 ✭✭✭deezell

Shoved in your face in the middle of the Champions league, whiney entitled private school accent. Fup off, I turned over immediately to Killinaskully on rte1, a few minutes of Dick and Jacksie rinsed that fkng voice out of my head. Back to 2 for the second half!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,601 ✭✭✭CoBo55

It's a stupid ad, really bugs me every time I see it. That bloody accent 😡😡

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,027 ✭✭✭gidget

I'm sorry for the woman that she had a nasty accident, but what I want to know is where & why there is never any RSA ads directed at cyclists as well, particularly when it comes to red lights and reminding them that they aren't immune to them & also have to stop. I see it happen every day with cyclists charging through red lights and pedestrian crossings, without a thought for oncoming traffic or pedestrians who have right of way & delivery cyclists are horrendous for it too!

Many years ago a bunch of this type, who weekly drove down from Dublin southside to buzz around the rural roads in my locality in their 'Peleton', were haring around a 90° bend when one of the rear riders attempted the manoeuvre of rotating to the front, with the customary yelling and jostling. She lost control, and fell straight into the path of a local man braking into the narrow bend. The result was fatal for the young woman. The group of cyclists then lied through their teeth for the next year right up to the perjury inspired court case, in an attempt the destroy the driver, who suffered a year of hell. Thankfully their lies were exposed in court, he was acquitted on all counts, but the man suffered terribly at the hands of this mob.

That they collectively tried to excuse their own incompetence and culpability by attempting to send a decent local man to prison sickens me to this day, and I can't but detest the sight of them on our narrow roads, which is virtually anytime I travel to the nearest towns. There seems to be dozens of different clubs, some with matching uniforms and a lot of speed, some a bit more wobbly with a lot of grey beards. Some are well behaved, and others....

All of these stupid conceptual ads with no meaning, mostly for companies everybody hates.

Because up is on, and for every reindeer in a lightning storm, never stop believing in the power of you.

    AIB. Because up is on.

The voice of the fox in the NowTv ad is familiar, can't pinpoint who it is.

As ads go it's far from the worst.

Dear God! The singing pints of Guinness. What sick twisted individuals come up with these anthropomorphic food adverts? From singing pints to suicidal blackcurrants.

Please I beg of you. Stop.

I am aware of the particular incident to which you refer and I think it is totally inappropriate to refer to it in this light hearted discussion . Tragically a young woman lost her life in the accident regardless of the rights or wrongs of the situation. If you have an anti cyclist agenda there are many forums where you can happily discuss it without referring to people who have lost their lives.

There is an ad for single use plastics on the radio. A woman is asked if she wants a plastic straw with her drink, she says no thank you. Then she is asked twice more and she gives the same answer but more angry each time. By the end she sounds like she wants to stab the young lad in the eye with the straw!

Wonder she is part of the ever growing cohort of women constantly buying from Shein and all the environmentally friendly shite that has.

    Gotta love Virtue Signalling.

Hotels used to advertise how indulgent and luxurious their rooms were, coffee machine, A.C., maybe a little snipe of champers, luxury sheets and towels... Now you have eco showers that dole out the hot water in litres per fortnight, a virtuous note informing you that to save the planet, they won't change your towels all week, or waste electricity vacuuming your floors, or clean the jax with nasty chemicals, (or at all), etc. Unless of course, you dare to hang that selfish, planet destroying 'Service my Room sign' on the door, for everyone to see and condemn.

Somehow, if you submit to this eco shaming, it still costs the same €200 a night to stay in your own waste for a week, with the roaches the only ones knocking on your door.

Those e-scooter safety ads are some of the most stupid I've seen in a long time. I can't see them having any effect whatsoever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,601 ✭✭✭CoBo55

They are absolutely embarrassing, even the "actors" doing it look embarrassed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,601 ✭✭✭CoBo55

The AIB mortgage Ad with beardy thirty something dad talking to a young child like she's an adult really gets on my nerves😡. Seems to be the latest trend at the moment. Looks like one of those Dacia Logan's he's driving…

I have never actually listened to what he says but I find it irritating as an ad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,026 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The Lucozade Bring The Energy ad, all variants of them. Woke nonsense, they're nonsensical and the "music" is garbage. I'd hate them alone for having to listen to that crud.

Also the Pepsi and with the traitor Jack Hairband Grealish is muck as well. Well done Pepsi choosing him, and he's not even playing in the Euro's this summer. 😂

The child never speaks in the ad either, it's a very strange ad, are we supposed to think they are living in the car as well? As it looks like there are blankets in the back.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 7,696 Mod ✭✭✭✭HildaOgdenx

I don't know, tbh. I'm going to have to give in and not mute the tv one of these nights and hear what he says. They seem to be looking at a house or something. Then the child gazes soulfully out the car window.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,601 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Hearing what's being said won't make much difference, it's a terrible Ad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,175 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

the weird pointless Rockshore add that’s been on for ages. Actually since 2019 I’m seeing…The one where the lad makes a doll vaguely resembling the other 3…

It’s not funny, it’s not amusing, it’s not clever, it’s not ironic, or thought provoking…just weird, dumb and dull.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,253 ✭✭✭deezell

I wonder which dextrous needlepoint craftsperson got the commission to knit up the dolls. Nice little earner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,977 ✭✭✭squonk

I saw the ad yesterday and got that impression as well, the way the camera lingered on the stuff on the back parcel shelf. If that’s what they’re implying then it’s sickening. I know there are housing issues but painting themselves as some great heroes taking a dad and kid out of car dwelling is naff. We have some of the highest mortgage rates in Europe so they really need to look at themselves if the ad implies the people live in the car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,601 ✭✭✭CoBo55

Almost as bad as the one where they keep moving the table into the sun🥱

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Photobox

That's exactly what i thought as well. I think we are meant to think they are living in the car and AIB are so good to give them a house. Sickening is an understatement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭Kingslayer

There is a terrible Irish ad with a woman trying to break up with her washing machine, awful acting.

Dove ad with that cheating shitebag Thierry Henri, who's idea was it to show it on Irish tv?
