With that Leverkusen win, Frank Schmidt has taken Heidenheim from the 5th tier to Europe over the past 17 years.

Bochum have got the 3 goals and it's all square in the playoff with 20 minutes of normal time left.

Bloody hell I did not see this coming.

Bocum deserve it to be fair, it felt like Fortuna were pretty negative

3 up playing at home to the team with the worst away record in the Bundesliga this season and you fumble it. Thioune got that all wrong. Lots to go over for them in the post mortem but leaving Appelkamp on the bench for 120 minutes jumps out as hard to justify, especially when Bochum got back into the game.

The latest incident of fan violence to mar French soccer this season led to 30 injuries after rivals from Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain fought on a highway before Saturday's French Cup final near the city of Lille on Saturday 25th May.

PSG supporters also caused trouble in the youth French Cup final, a curtain-raiser to the French Cup final, by throwing projectiles at Marseille Under-19 goalkeeper Aboubaka Dosso. The game was suspended for about 10 minutes in the second half before resuming. Marseille beat Nancy 4-1.

In what can only be called a shock move BvB has announced a multi-million Euro sponsorship deal with German arms manufacturer 'Rheinmetall'.

These guys supplied Hitlers war machinery, deliver tanks to the Saudis, shells to Israel and make gazillions off the Ukraine war. And any war there is really. How Dortmunds senior management think this is an acceptable move I have no idea. I can only explain this with the new war craze over there that has developed since the start of the Ukraine war.

I'm not a BvB supporter, but I always liked them enough. I am so disappointed now, disgusted even, and while I know this is not the teams fault I will feel it difficult to shout for them on Saturday.

Their manager has gone to Brighton - disappointing.

    That's a shame.

Nice to finally see the Olympic Stadium feature in a Euros yesterday

    2. Bundesliga starts back tonight with Köln hosting HSV. Someone should let Sky know, as they are showing SPFL highlights on TV and don't have the game listed as being shown on YouTube yet either. 🙄

If they don't end up showing it anywhere, it's on free TV in Germany and can most likely be watched here via VPN for anyone interested.

What do you think of Hamburgs chances tonight and for promotion? Looking at their preseason results doesnt fill me with confidence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,089 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

It appears tonight's match is on the Sky Sports App, what ever that means

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Acosta

Assuming they actually remember to turn the game on, this was what they were doing the season before last. Incredibly annoying tbh. I don't have a tablet and I'm NOT watching it on my phone. That means having to find other streams, even though I pay for Sky. Joke!

Of course they could easily put tonight's game on tv. It's two big teams, after all. Considering Sky have never once promoted or advertised across their platform that they show 2. Bundesliga, some of the viewing figures on YouTube last season weren't too bad. They wanted the rights, but appear to be in some sort of conflict with themselves about actually showing the games half the time. That they might actually promote German football bothers them perhaps?

I think this is the last season of their rights deal.

I was happy with their coverage last season, with the games on YouTube and having the option to put it on the tv. The app is a load of bollocks though.

I'll be sending an email to complain. This is it, if anyone else wants to

Headshot - HSV (can't quote for some reason)

I reckon they'll scrape third / fourth. They don't look in great shape though. A lot will depend on their start and if they actually stick with a manager long enough to settle a team.

I'd take a point tonight with all the strikers out. I think Selke will be fit enough to go on the bench but Glatzel and Nemeth are unavailable. Probably play strikerless.

I am not a fan of Baumgart so my confidence and excitement levels for the season have never been lower. Maybe it works out though.

Great win for Hamburg but Koln were awful in the final third

So many crosses over hit and terrible in front of goals

Schalke game is also on YouTube starting at 7.27.20 Saturday night.

Sky not bothering to switch the stream on for the Hamburg v Hertha match FFS!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 171 ✭✭ch20

It's scheduled on YouTube for 11:30am tomorrow. Poor from Sky sports

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Acosta

That changed earlier. It was originally due to stream earlier.

Anyway, decent point for Hertha in the end.

I see Leverkusen are at it again. Some team for injury time goals last season and they've picked up where they left off 😁

    Tabakovic gone to Hoffenheim :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,338 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

A let off for Bayern today, they gave up plenty of chances and could easily have been a draw.

If this is a penalty to Leverkusen then it is the most ridiculous decision I've seen
