Buying a car - oil change service overdue by 2900km/247 days

Looking at buying a car with main dealer 2016, 120,000km

The only thing putting us off is a message we saw on the car screen - oil change overdue by 2900km or 247 days

It has a full service history

Last one was done in September 2022 at 105,000 and oil was changed

Dealer is giving a year warranty with it and says it will be fully serviced

Should we be overly worried that oil wasn't changed

15,000kms would be about normal for an oil change. Looks like it's supposed to be 12k with that car. Wouldn't be overly fussed about it. Usually it's oil and filter, then just oil etc. The 247 days is possibly due to the car sitting in the dealers for a while. Or the car hasn't been driven much if it's only done 15k in almost two years.

What make and model is the car?

Not an issue at all. Theres thousands of sales rep Octavias being serviced every 20,000 miles in the UK with no issue.

The exact same oil is used for long intervals (30,000km), and the servicing is the same. 18+ m9nths between service isn’t ideal but this isn’t an issue.

if there was anything ropey with car - main dealer would have sold off in trade
