F1 2024 - Round 8 - Monaco

Scrap this stupid race. With the exception of Saturday it is a procession of cars going around for whatever amount of laps in the same order.

And that's before i get on to how proposporous the whole "event" is

I have no problem with street tracks, as long as you have the ability to pass on track. I remember vaguely watching a Monaco race, it must be 10/15 years ago maybe where the leader (can't recall who) literally backed the whole pack up as he was protecting his tyres. Farce

No it was not his tyres Daniel was protecting there his ERS I think had gone and he was under a lot of pressure from behind. That was one of the better Monaco races.

Really hoping that it's one of the Mclarens that win on Sunday. If we all hope this then it can happen. Landos first Monaco win would be awesome.

Was it Monaco that used to have FP1 and FP2 on a Thursday?

It was actually the Thursday that is a holiday (Ascension Day) so running on Thurs-Sat-Sun meant they could hold the GP weekend without closing the roads on a business day. If you visited Monaco on the Friday the roads were open and you could drive a lap of the circuit. The Monaco GP hasn't been held on Ascension for many years now though, so it was just kept as a tradition.

Except they have overtaking and some good racing, big fan of Baku myself.

Interesting that the booking are more sceptical wth their odds for the race. Usually Max is long odds on before every weekend to win but only slightly odds on with Lando and Chales both joint second favs.

I have a suspicion for Charles this weekend. FP1 should give some indication about who looks strong.

Regardless, you'll need to qualify in first 2 to have any chance. We know Max will fill 1 of them 2 spots.
