It's a bit mad how Ireland had a brief run of domination in the Eurovision before being hopeless for nearly 30 years.

And there was me constantly complaining on the Eurovision thread about RTE being 'stuck in the 1990s'…

Hope he will not come back in September / the Autumn after his four or 5 month holiday. I have not watched the Late Late in about 3 months. Back then, even Dermot Bannon's house programme was getting more viewers than the Late Late, how the Late late has fallen since its heydey. I gave up on Kielty after all his one sided northern guests etc. At least if Kielty stayed in London next winter think of the carbon footprint saved on him flying over and back every week, as he done last winter.

Late Night Lycett on C4 might be worth a look.

He's not on holidays, he's a contractor who has fulfilled his contract.

He has his BBC work to concentrate on and maybe a breakeen or three.

Back refreshed to the LLS in the autumn.

He gets well paid for a 30 weeks stint, as do many others in RTÉ. May has always been the beginning of the Busman's holiday's in RTÉ, come August the Newsroom will be threadbare.

He's has a 3 year contract for TLLS.

Filming of LLS to move outside RTÉ campus within the next 5 years, wonder could it mean they would use the HD studio of Virgin Media TV, that has about a 25% smaller floorspace of studio 4.

Oh no, now the eurosong special will have to be filmed in an even smaller broom cupboard.

So rte going to sell off alot of the land I presume. That should make the figures look better for about 2 years but they are left with limited on site facilities with everything outsourced.

That said, the way rte operate, they will probably outsource far cheaper than doing it themselves.

I don't think the necessarily mean off-site. I am not sure what they mean to be honest.

It seems to me that FC and TLLS will move to indo producers, with RTÉ commissioning the show, unless RTÉ are planning to use RTÉ studio for something different on a Friday night I suspect that they indo producers will produce the show from RTÉ.

Broadcaster and comedian Patrick Kielty has received an honorary doctorate from Ulster University in recognition of his "outstanding contribution to the arts". ~~ Yesterday.

Russell Crowe, Ronan Keating and Ryan Tubridy attended the opening, as they are amongst the investors in the award-winning Muff Liquor company, based in Inishowen, Donegal, Ireland, which was set up by Laura Bonner ~~ Link

Wonder will they be on the show to promote it, when the show returns?

Stira attic stairs kept their 'as seen on the LLS' thing going on their tv ads up to the early 2000s. I remember watching the LLS when they were on sometime in the 1980s.
