Katie reveals she is starstruck by Tyson and loved meeting him. Have to say I'm disappointed with Katie. She was always perceived and lauded by myself and others for being role model to our youngsters. She was more than happy to take advantage of this. For me she has ruined her legacy. Mike Tyson is a convicted rapist and woman beater. Shame on Taylor for this. Disgusting stuff. Will Taylor be ostracized like Kellie Harrington was that time.

For some reason Mike Tyson seems to have got a pass from society. People say the wrong thing on twitter ten years ago and it gets dragged up but Mike Tyson a convicted rapist gets a pass. I didn't hear of any outrage when he was in The Hangover.

There's also the fact she had previously accused someone of rape and there was little in the way of any other evidence apart from her testimony.

I agree with the first part of your post. I don't have any interest in boxing whatsoever, so Tyson is not someone I admire or that I need to excuse for their behaviour because he was udisputed world champion at one time or his upbringing was tough. I was working in Limerick some years ago and I recall the excitememnt when MT was due to appear at a speaking event in the city. I was amazed that the people I worked with all had tickets and couldn't wait to see him. Nobody wanted to hear anything other than how legendary he was and how it was such a big deal for Limerick. His conviction was irrelevant as far as they were concerned.

I'm certainly not woke or part of any cancel mob. The man is a rapist. Katie was put on a pedestal by herself and many all over Ireland as being some sort of role model and definitely used as an example to young girls when it came to achievement at a high level. I absolutely think her idolising Mike Tyson the rapist is unbecoming of the status she holds in Ireland. By the way people have been canceled for a hell of a lot less.

I don't think much of Kate anyway so her idolising of Tyson doesnt bother me. Her merchandising of her "connection" with God is no different to what Jesus had to deal with when he turned over the tables of those selling in the temple. Thanking God for beating the brains out of another person just doesn't sit right.

Didn't Conor McGregor sponsor her last couple of fights? He has a chequered history with women also. Boxing is an filthy industry but a a lot of high profile industries are like that. I hold no ill will towards Taylor personally. Its part of her professional life.
