    The internet isn’t for everyone

The rollover deal BGE offered people from the previous OneBigSwitch deal is far better than that. Odd to offer something so poor now

Yep, it's actually closer to 28c terrible offer it's identical to the price that's been on their site since the 29th of February. No sign of these fantastic price drops of 20 to 40% yet, we'll be waiting 😡

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,553 ✭✭✭✭CoBo55

Makes it look good when they eventually announce a massive price drop of 10% in October to take effect in January 😏

There'll be a jump on that OBS deal by those who switch when it's in front of them. They'll see it as an offer without doing any homework.

I noticed that too, she messed up on the programme making it sound like esbn/cru were saying you could switch back to non smart 24hr. Her article on it is far clearer that it's a smart plan with one rate for the 3 usage periods.

    Interesting.

Switched to Yuno recently- they don't have any desktop website that you can log into & see account details. (not a biggie but still surprising). Also no account overview page, you have to drill down to a recent bill, see your rate and add VAT….

Switched to Yuno around Xmas but have just moved again (or applied to at any rate) to Flogas……Yuno were an odd one to deal with I have to say. We don't have a smart meter so it was all projected meter readings with some actual readings thrown in. I'll see how things go with Flogas…….

Anyone have the unit rates for the BWG Flogas offer? I switched to Flogas towards the end of March and early April I signed up again using the BWG offer. Got a bill now with 2 different rates and not sure what's what and not ringing them and jinxing it lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭WattsUp

Same here. Was expecting night rate of 12.45 but got 12.54+VAT=13.67 :-( I had a query in since last week and rang them yesterday. They were looking for a screenshot

The old rate and the new rate I assume, 30c up to the meter reading you provided at changeover and 23c from then onwards.

I was thinking that but it's the date I signed up for the BWG offer

Can I ask what rates people are paying with Energia?

I am on MCC02 Day/Night, non-activated smart meter and am paying 38.3c Day and 18.37c Night ex. VAT.

Just wondering if Energia have any better plans before I go switching

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,984 ✭✭✭bren2001

That is an awful rate to be paying. Energia cannot match the Flogas offer and even though the Flogas offer is fixed, I'd say you'll make back the 50e exit fee pretty bloody quick if you choose to leave later in the year:

The BWG deal is over (as per another poster) and hence the link is dead. However, the rates for the BWG deal were identical to the Certa offer which can be found here. I am on the BWG deal and this is what I am paying:

    https://www.flogas.ie/price-plans/certa-affinity-rate/detail.html?fuelType=electricity&offerId=27&availability=new_customers

The tariff on my bill is: DG1 24Hr AFF Fixed Elec 12 Mar24 RN. Yours should be similar but obviously not 24 Hr. The rate that should appear on your bill is 11.33 with VAT at 9%.. I assume the day rate is appearing correctly as 23.38 (ex VAT)? Again, the BWG link is dead but the Certa rates are identical.

    Slightly off kilter,

I rang electric Ireland yesterday to enquire about smart meter+ plane etc

Informed I was out of contract and currently on 4 percent discount ( 24 hour tariff account)

Signed up for another 12 months ( direct debit)

Now on a much better discount percentage,

Pays to check and keep abreast of ones contract

Anybody have any luck in signing up to this (Flogas LPG smart electricity offer)?

I filled in the online application form over the weekend but heard nothing back. Not even an email to confirm

How much are you paying now? They're very expensive to start with so percentage discount doesn't mean a whole lot.

Strange that - I applied to sign up yesterday and received 2 x emails from them - text of second email below….

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for your application to switch your energy supply to Flogas.

Your welcome letter with your account details will be issued via email in the next 14 days. There is no need to contact us during this time, we will be in touch should we require any additional information.

Residential Terms & Conditions of your contract, along with our Codes of Practice and other useful documents can be found here.

Should you change your mind, you can cancel the switch within 14 days of agreeing to the contract, by contacting cancellations@flogas.ie or by completing and returning the cancellation form.

There will be no interruption to your supply and you do not need to contact your previous supplier to cancel your account, as this will be done for you as part of your switch to Flogas. Your previous supplier will issue you a final bill/credit if owed. Your expected contract start date is 07-05-2024. However, your start date will be confirmed in your welcome letter.

If you have any queries on your application, please feel free to contact us at hello@flogas.ie or our Customer Care Team on 041 2149500

    Kind regards,
    Flogas Customer Care Team

I signed up last week, got a confirmation email a few minutes later.

Curiosity got the better of me, said I ring up to see the status of the application. The agent I spoke to had no record of my application. Fair enough, maybe something went wrong. So I reapplied online again today, again received the confirmation email a few minutes later with the expected start date of my contract. Rang them again! Same craic, no record of my application, I told them that it was an online link for an LPG smart electricity offer. He put me on hold for a minute then said he'd transfer me to the department dealing with it, straight to a full mailbox. Me thinks I got fobbed off :)

Hopefully, ye'll have better luck than me.

I’m 11 days signed up and not heard a word from flogas, funny how some folks get emails and others don’t

    The internet isn’t for everyone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭Akula

Which flogas deal is best now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,994 ✭✭✭Spipov

    Hiya.

I am looking at switching a lady from Electric Ireland to the Certa deal. She only has electricity no gas. Does switching affect the free electricity allowance she would get or are there any issues I need to be aware of?

I challenged EI on the phone and they offered to drop to 29c but certa is coming in at 23 incl. Mad stuff

She'll need to contact the DSW to get the money paid into her bank. I think EI are the only provider who have it on the bill.
