have a 2018 mac laptop running ventura

I am trying to delete certain applications > right click on app > move to bin

brings up a 'finder' window with my firstname.lastname and a password box

its not the password I use to login to mac, and its not an old password I thought it was, have tried a few more also but no luck

is there any way to reset this finder password when trying to delete apps etc?

Are you logged into the admin user account? Are there other user accounts?

I logged in to mac with my firstname.lastname

I think this is the only account

I changed the ‘finder’ username to admin to see if that worked with my password and no luck

go to systems preferences / users & groups and you should see a list of users etc there. theres an admin one there I'd say though it could have any username. Who set up the mac you are using? theres a password for the admin account but it would have been set by the person who installed the OS etc
