Budvar cans have been accepted since day 1 at Re-Turn machines, even with no logo on the cans (and no deposit was charged for a while, either - in Dunnes)

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

yeah, I still have some to bring back without the logo. They have been missing from tesco for a while now. They vanished, came back with the logo and now vanished again. I wondered if a shipment of old cans came in or something. They can still legally sell ones without the logos for now, but Tesco have been making a definite point of trying not to. I still see random old stock appearing in the discounted section, well in date but no logos. The budvar longnecks also disappeared for a good while but are back a few weeks so it does not seem to be an issue with the importer/distributor.

I wonder if we will see many discounted stock when the time approaches where it will be illegal, e.g. more specialist foreign beers with no intention of getting the logo.

That's a great price on Black Bush.

Have to drive up to Newry shortly for something. Tend to drink IPA's so perhaps not too much difference in value up there?

Tempted to just get a slab of something generic (Heineken/Carlsberg) anyway.

Heineken is currently 2 15x440ml for £22 in Sainsburys, no Nectar card required. Not really in to the IPA's myself so never really noticed any good deals on these but I am sure they will be cheaper than here.

Tesco and Asda offered no value on IPA, that I could see. Brew dog/Beaverton etc were pricey.

Spirits where so so value. If you shop wisely in the south you can do better.

Wine was way better value when coupled with 25% off discounts.

But just like here, prices one week can change dramatically the next.

Regular beers and wine are where the savings are to be made up north.

Craft beers were relatively expensive here even before MUP

Yes it's the only one they sell. I think it basically equals drinking a can of our 500ml 4.3%.

    700ml €26 (with Clubcard)

foxes bowe is still €25 in supervalu

  • Registered Users Posts: 23 Clayver

Very underwhelming deals on spirits this week considering you usually get some good bargains leading up to a bank holiday weekend. These are about the pick of them

Jameson Crested €25 in Dunnes and Tesco (cc)

    Bushmills Blackbush €23 O'Briens

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,714 ✭✭✭✭zell12

    Costcutter

Says 'lowest price guaranteed', yet Lidl has Carlsberg for €13.57 and the vodka for €20.71 😃

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,134 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

    Those are good offers.

Really, ordinary Jameson / Powers / Paddy / White Bush should be at MUP all the time, I like them but they're not premium whiskeys by any means. In Dunnes at least, they're often at a very silly price just so when the next bank holiday rolls around they can say "SAVE €x"

    Dunnes

Madri 12x 330 14:50 lowest i’ve seen. Really nice dark lager.

Guinness 8x500 is MUP think around €13:30 ish

but their 12x500 is €22 ish so basically a saving of 3 euro per 24.

Id love to be able to even buy a 24 pack crate, I'd feel like a proper baller walking out of a shop with one 😂.
