How to get rid of Ghost notification

I have a notification #1 (see screenshot) which I cannot get rid of. I believe it was for a reply to one of my posts by an account that has subsequently been banned/deleted (all of their posts appear to have been removed from that thread - think they may have been a re-reg) I have tried selecting the "Mark All Read"…

I have a notification #1 (see screenshot) which I cannot get rid of.

I have tried selecting the "Mark All Read" option. That removes the Number at that time but if I refresh or click on another page it comes back
I have also tried logging in on a different browser (as recommend by the sticky). I still see it there so it appears to be a server-side issue.
