Yeah, because if it wasn't bad enough getting a notification everytime for the "New Businesses opening in Dublin 15" where every post was "I like chips" now I'm gonna get another notification everytime for this thread every time some posts "I like chips" here too.

Could we not have a separate "I like chips" thread that I wont follow, and therefore I wont receive notifications for?

A few of the San Marinos give a 10% discount if you pre order via their app, meaning a fish chips and drink can be got for just over a tenner and most of their burger meals are still around the 8 quid mark, something unheard of these days. Unfortunately SM Castleknock doesn't have this on their app ordering (must think the locals are rich enough to do without it)

There is something I've noticed with way too many chippers in the last while that I never noticed before- if you order a dinner box, the two smaller pieces are fresh and juicy, but the breast is dry, like it was cooked ages ago and it was sitting in the heater a while. It's not worth eating, too dry.

Is this a cost cutting exercise? Part of the reason I was never too enamoured by Supermacs apparently famous chicken was exactly this, you pay for a dinner box and only two pieces are edible (and his chips are so bad you need to buy a dip to swallow them with) and if that miserable tight bastard McDonagh worked out a cheap way of doing something my god he would do it. Is there something in the cooking process that makes chicken a drain financially? I've went in to the Corduff one twice now and been told there's no chiicken on today, I don't know if they ever do it!

I've said it before, but Romayos comprising effectively half of the chippers in the area is just pulling the piss. One of them still calling themselves a Macaris, go to Macaris where the church in Finglas was and compare their quality to Romayos and tell me they're the same.

I find Marios in Tyrellstown a nice chipper, haven't had Darios since they left Main St, where even are they these days?

The Corduff chipper only does roast chicken and not southern fried. Absolute blasphemy. I'd only get a single of chips out of there if peckish. It's poor enough.

That's outrageous! If I want a roast chicken I'll buy a bagged one from a supermarket, the bagging keeps it juicy.

I had their pizza, 16 odd quiz and a frozen one would be nicer.

Is there ANYTHING to be said for another Romayos, even just a small one.

Oh god the area could do with a sixth Romayos.

Used to be Darios in what is now Romayos on the gun attack side of Main St was (as opposed to the branch 90 seconds walk on the opposite side of the road)

You certainly wont confuse the 2 chippers in village with tat description of location.😀

Does anyone know if the Local Kitchen cafe, Phoenix Park Racecourse which closed before Christmas has relocated or has it closed business?

They had a unit up by Lidl in the village too - both are closed. They told us they were closing in the Racecourse because of rents and the landlord not renewing the lease. It looks like that unit, the vacant retail unit next door and the empty restaurant unit opposite have just been put up for sale.

Thanks, that's a pity. Always loved a visit there for coffee and breakfast or lunch

The one near Lidl in Castleknock seems to be closed too.
