The NHS contained Lucy Letby and Harold Shipman. Therefore Israel's logic is all funding to the NHS must be cancelled.

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive was riddled with Provos. Israel says abolish the the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Convicted terrorist Qasar Shaiffi had been working at Asda. Israel says "shut down Asda!"

The IDF contains many murderers. Israel says...

Israelis holler and whoop as missiles strike Gaza.

    It's genocide

Let the cries of how the ICJ is antisemitic begin / continue!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 202 ✭✭Toeuptony

And how many police forces have crooked cops, so the police force should be shut down in all countries!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72 ✭✭NoMoreDonegalTuesdays

Reverse horseshoe theory in action. Israel has gone so far right that it's now in agreement with the most extreme minority of far left Black Lives Matter protestors who want to abolish the police.

I've no idea who would win to be honest.

I think the current thoughts are that the PA, perhaps with changes, would be the preferred body to represent Palestinians. Whether that is imposed or by election, I don't know.

Certainly, Hamas are ruled out - unless they become political only, renounce violence etc. I don't think can happen so I don't see them in the picture.

You make a good point about Israel. The current Govt. really is taking the country downhill in rapid fashion. It seems the majority want them gone ASAP.

I would hope that once this over, the politics are sorted out along with the rebuilding Gaza. WB needs to be sorted and illegal settlements gone.

It will be a long difficult road for both sides. But this violence has to stop. I think the International community ate very keen to see peace for both sides.

No. Ireland (and many others) have consistently condemned the attacks on Israel and have supported their right to self defense.

The issue is that what is being perpetrated in Gaza goes far beyond self defence and is directly impacting the civilian population - i.e. genocide.

Am I reading you right that you are calling Ireland a "horrible pontificating irrelevent country"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,020 ✭✭✭boetstark

I know that deliberately targeting civilians is wrong in all circumstances. I just don't know how Israel can solve this without civilians being killed. Hamas are such a cowardly treacherous organisation that have embedded themselves within the population.

Unfortunately Ireland as a country I am beginning to hate on so many levels and not just on this subject.

and the like the ruzzians , you know an israeli government/army mouthpiece is lying when you see their lips move

Unfortunately that is the nature of the intractability of this conflict - once the guns go quiet, the next challenge is a far harder problem to solve than the military one.

It's the political conflict that is so hard to resolve - particularly with the lack of leadership on both sides.

I hope that the International community will step in (in a respectful manner) to "assist" negotiations that leads to an agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians.

And I agree fully that that will be very difficult - both sides will have to compromise. But if the result is what both want - peace, security and prosperity, it would be worth it.

I don't know but I can imagine those in Gaza do not want to go through this again. I hope that they see Hamas is utterly corrupt and cannot represent them.

Im no expert on the wider Middle East but work will need to be done to bring all those countries into line also. Egypt and Jordan have peace with Israel. Saudi was on the brink. Lebanon is like Gaza - they know peace with Israel is the only solution but they have to shake off Hezbollah.

Iran I know nothing about other than what is posted here. I think there are at least some there that recognise peace is the only solution but they have a rotten regime to shake off.

I really don't have the knowledge others here have do the above is subject to (respectful) critisism.

well the claims about the organisation were made by a bunch of proven liers and conspiricy theorists so it's not surprising we took the stance we have.

i'm glad we will give more money to this organisation and i'm prowd of the stance of my government against the genocide of the palestinians by the terrorist apartheid state of israel.

we are on the correct side of history and we will be judged very fairly.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Fair enough on the way you feel about Ireland.

Hamas simply has to go. That is the solution for Israel.

Simply bombing Gaza into the Stone Age and killing every living thing will solve nothing. Israel will be a pariah like Russia - sanctions, economy tanking, citizens paying the price, accused of genocide.

And after all that, they will still be surrounded by people who want to wipe them off the map.

I think @Hey boy created a very good "list" many posts ago.

Nonsense. His track record speaks for itself, advocating for Darfur, for Russians, Cubans, Chinese, clearly an expert. It's just that he advocates for Israel so he's 'a self anointed expert.' Attack the source because you can't refute what he's said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,096 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

Should be easy for you to give examples then. Being awarded honorary doctorates in Canada, seems like he backs up what he says. Otherwise, asserted without evidence...

Attack the source because you can't refute what he's said.

lol that sums up the strategy for refuting all the blatant evidence of Israel’s genocidal war crimes.

Ok, so let me get this straight. The most hostages recovered during so far was during a ceasefire and an exchange was brokered. Israel has rescued a grand total of 3 and probably killed more hostages than that while killing over 30,000 Palestinians. So, why no ceasefire?

I see. You want him to agree with your dictates, but he doesn't so off to the bin with him. Glad you cleared that up.

    Overthrow the Govt.

"It's hard to accept the claims by Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant that the series of [operational] achievements will bring about Hamas' defeat, perhaps quite soon" - Amos Harel

    Haaretz:

    • PM Netanyahu responded to what he called "recent talk about forcing a Palestinian state on Israel," adding that "Israel rejects out of hand international diktats about a final-status solution with the Palestinians."
    • Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz told the Munich Security Conference that Israel has no plans to deport Palestinians from Gaza. Katz said that Israel will coordinate with Egypt on Palestinian refugees and will find a way to not harm Egypt's interests.
    • Israeli President Isaac Herzog met Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where they discussed the release of hostages held by Hamas.
    • Defense chief Yoav Gallant said Israel possesses intel indicating over 30 UNRWA employees actively participated in Hamas' October 7 attack. He disclosed the identities of 12 such workers, including those involved in abductions of civilians and soldiers.
    • Hundreds of protesters rallied in front of the houses of Israeli coalition members, calling for the overthrow of the government.

Approaching the 100K mark, asking the ICJ to dismiss an SA request, withholding humanitarian aid and more pressure from hostage families (leading to nothing)

    • The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry says four patients died Friday morning due to a power outage that cut the oxygen supply in Khan Yunis' Nasser Hospital, where the IDF continues to operate.
    • The IDF initially said it entered the hospital complex following intelligence regarding the possibility of Israeli hostages being held there, and later said it found medicine there labeled with the names of Israeli hostages. The IDF said it arrested dozens of suspects, including over 20 terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre.
    • The World Health Organization said it was trying to get access to Nasser Hospital, warning that "There are still critically injured and sick patients inside."
    • The Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry said at least 28,775 Palestinians have been killed and 68,552 wounded since the war began.
    • RAFAH OFFENSIVE: White House spokesperson John Kirby said on Thursday that the U.S. believes that under the current circumstances, without a credible plan to account for Palestinian civilians that are sheltering in Rafah, "a major operation would be a disaster."
    • PM Netanyahu held a 40-minute phone call with U.S. President Joe Biden, during which Biden "raised the situation in Rafah, and reiterated his view that a military operation should not proceed without a credible and executable plan for ensuring the safety of and support for the civilians" there, the White House said.
    • War cabinet minister Benny Gantz said the fighting in Gaza will continue until the hostages are returned: "Even in the approaching month of Ramadan, the firing can continue. Either our hostages will be returned, or we will expand the fighting to Rafah."
    • Egypt is setting up a huge walled enclosure in the Sinai Desert bordering Gaza as part of a contingency plan if there is a mass migration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
    • Displaced Gazans broke through to the Palestinian side of Rafah crossing, burning tires outside the entrance. Gaza border authority sources said they are displaced people who were sheltering near the crossing, and that they stormed aid trucks entering Rafah. Hamas police officers arrived at the scene to repel the crowds.
    • Israel has asked the International Court of Justice in The Hague to dismiss a request by South Africa to issue additional emergency measures over Israel's plan to extend its offensive in Gaza into the city of Rafah.

    • PM Netanyahu met CIA director William Burns in Israel, and told him that Israel will not agree to more humanitarian gestures for Gaza "until we receive concrete proof that the hostages received the medicine that was sent to them," a diplomatic source said.
    • Families of the American hostages welcomed the CIA director's visit, calling it "imperative" for the U.S. "to pressure Israeli leadership … to urgently create favorable conditions for a deal that returns the hostages safely and swiftly."
    • The families of the hostages still held in Gaza protested alongside their supporters in front of Israel's army HQ on Thursday, calling for a deal to secure their release.
    • Former hostage Moran Stela Yanai and Ruby Chen, the father of hostage Itay Chen, called on Israel's government to reach a deal in Cairo for the release of hostages after PM Netanyahu ordered Israel's delegation not to return for continuing talks.

Selling genocide as entertainment for kids. As I mentioned before, there is something messed up with Israelis. And they complain about Hamas indoctrinating children.
