Is the theft of catalytic converters no longer an epidemic?

    I've not noticed for months any mention of catalytic convertor thefts in the news, has it died off? Seems to be out of the news in the UK too. Has the price of the metals collapsed or have authorities regulated the whole recycling network to kill it off?
