Ev extended car warranty

Hi folks, has anyone got or looked into getting extended warranty, either through manufacturers or external companies, after the manufacturers warranty has run out?

Did anybody respond now 2024. Surely there is an EV warranty on the Irish market now

Lack of response would indicate there isn’t. Mapfre or Carprotect technically probably cover EV’s same as ICE. In my experience, these products aren’t worth having, they don’t compare favourably with the manufacturer approved used schemes offered.

You can extend manufacturer warranty in the same way you can extend ICE. But it has to be before the factory one ends.

Tesla for example, 2 years is €1500’ish.

BMW is similar.

I think these brands might be the exception. Audi don’t offer in Ireland it as an option, comes with their approved used cars only. Yet it’s offered in the UK.

Toyota 10 years, 1 million km, just service the car with them every year.
