Power to Shed

I am just wondering what is best way to run an electric cable to an external shed, I could run in the air from the house direct to the shed but I doubt that is allowed anymore? would I have to dig a trench in garden from the fuse board to the shed? Running in the air would be a very easy task if it was allowed?

Cable has to be SWA and be buried in a trench at least 450mm deep, back fill 250mm and place hazard marking tape that reads BURIED ELECTRIC CABLE in trench then complete backfill.
The size of cable will depend on many variables like distance from house to shed, expected load etc etc. your electrician will calculate all that for you.
