They had the incumbent advantage a few years ago and they're cashing in on essentially the same advantage again.

So your point that they're somehow throwing away a potential future incumbent advantage by having him now is what "doesn't hold water".

He's often fondly quoted on those Russian propaganda programs that look like they've reused the set from the weakest link

You have to wonder if any American ally can feel truly safe because American Conservatism (of the Trump era, at least) seems to be on a constant position shift due to edgelordism and paranoid conspiracy theory. There's so much noise flying about that its principles are hard to discern, which may be more of a feature than a bug in that its true principles would be so odious to a majority of Americans that they must remain masked with theater, confusion and distraction either indefinitely or at a point where there is no repercussion to truly revealing them.

Tucker Carlson will be a rockstar within the GQP movement for that photograph because it's all about one-upmanship in that political space right now. Who can be the most provocative? Who can display the most influence? Thousands upon thousands of wannabes on Twitter and talking heads on their info-tainment channels all vying for attention and influence, but none of them have got a box at the Bolshoi.

It'll be interesting, if nothing else, to see where the GQP talking points go next and fold back on each other as each commentator searches for a sizzlingly controversial hot take to make a fortune on. Being pro-abortion, but only for Democrat voters? Oooooooooohhhhh, oh no you di'n't....

A single issue voter is the definition of dumb or stupid. We've joked for decades about the "dumb Americans" but it really had risen to an extreme level in the last decade. It is a indictment of the America educational system which has been degrading for many decades now.

I'm my mind there are 3/4 types or Trump voters.

1. Dumb people and stupid single issue voters.

2. Emboldened racists.

3. Powerful wealthy people who stand to gain most from his policies.

4. A combination of some or all of the above.

Trump started saying the quiet parts out loud which emboldened the large swathes or racists, misogynists and Christian nationals that makes up much of middle America.

How a piece of **** like Trump became the hero of the working class will be studied in the future.

I do laugh at the extreme Christian right in America who hitched their wagons to Trump. The definition of hypocrites. The real Christian running was Biden.

It also has to be stated that how the hell low working class and poor in middle America always vote republican when without fail their interests are always consistently worse served with Republicans in power. I'm not saying the Democrats are working class hero's or anything close but Republicans don't believe in welfare and social security and benefits. Yet the very people who receive these benefits the most voted or them. All to make sure women are forced to carry pregnancies against their will and that they are allowed to own whatever gun they want. Mind boggling stuff.

Its arguable that they are, voting just about the climate crisis when the party involved doesn't have a clue about economic issues or social issues wouldn't be very discerning. But Americans don't have the option of a 'green' party, its a binary choice, and taking one single issue to decide between a choice of two parties isn't all that bright.
