I say 'tail section's and 'LR' and gulped... Thinking LRD had some issue. Then my contact lenses slurped into their correct position and I thought... Yeaahhh!

Looking forward to the XLRs... Really think they'll make EI a very solid transat player to smaller marketsz with a better DUB/CBD/gates situation.

I used to use DUB-LHR-IAH a bit in a former life. It always had healthy loads, but was mainly oil industry supported, which in recent years has cut back significantly. I'd imagine Dallas has broader appeal to tourism and those that want to visit the region. Easy car hire, and onwards to Austin for tech companies and Houston for oil companies, gives the best of all worlds. I know if I was still heading there I'd likely go DUB-DFW-IAD/Car

The loads on BA’s LHR-IAH twice-daily services (which EI code-share on) always seem good and the prices can be eye-wateringly expensive in J which suggests the oil money, or maybe healthcare/research money, is still there. Timings aren’t great for my preferred SNN connection though so you end up hanging around Heathrow for hours on the outbound going direct. I’ve travelled via DFW a good few times, often via SNN-BOS/JFK when connection timings can be made to work; or from DUB with AA when they don’t. Have to say the AA transfer product is generally excellent, but there are always risks of missed connections that a direct flight would avoid…

Are the a321 neos only operating the ei776 flight in the winter or will they be used in summer schedule aswell this year flying on that flight in April be nice if they are

They are only operating it until the end of February. Some of the TA routes like CLE/BDL have stopped for a few weeks now so they are being utilised on DUB ACE. They are also operating additional DUB-LHR instead of the 320/320 neo

How do they make up for the extra capacity during the summer that the old 321 ceos used to operate? the likes of Lanzarote and Catania. Was surprised they didn't bring CTA back sooner since it was always on the 321 before covid. Or was it for a different reason other than the capacity?

Quick question for those in the know booking seats on the 776 DUB/ACE this Sunday just noticed that the seats up front only have 2 So called EI and the lad told me the aircraft is an A321, Now its a while since I've been on the 321 and from memory they did not have the biz class seats.

It's the missis birthday next week so was thinking of booking those seats if they are the biz class type. Also what happens if you pay for such a seat and there is a tail swop and you are lumped into a normal seat do EI pay you the difference back.

EI776 DUB ACE is scheduled for a A321NEO on Sunday

There is an option on the refund form

"I am requesting a refund for fees paid for airline services like seats or meals that I did not receive"

Does that mean they will refund or not, who knows

Its a nice seat, full lie flat

Cheers will book it for her the nearest I ever get to a biz class seat.

You get a nice seat but not business class service, it's a long enough haul down to the Canaries in an economy seat, how much extra are they charging?

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

    Is it the LR version?

If not then it's just normal seats

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,250 ✭✭✭pureza

It's the long haul plane alright

Book her into 5 K,the throne seat, you will not regret it,it has much more space than the others

The first 6 rows are all lie flat bed seats

All rows have in seat tv's

The old 321s are long gone and in a second life as freighters. They were high density all Y aircraft, 212 seats.

All Aer Lingus have is 321 LR with business seats.

The 321 ceos are gone from service since March 2020.

Well worth it! If it is an A321 on the return book it again, she will love you for it.

As others have said, its an economy service but the seat and space is WELL worth it!

    Enjoy the taste of business!

Just checked the return sector looks like it's the same aircraft type as the seat allocation is showing 2 each side.

@donaghs don’t tell her either, let it be a surprise and she’ll never notice the service is still economy! She’ll be bragging to her mates that you brought her “first class” and blah blah! You’ll be a king in her social group 😉

Aer Lingus has called on Fingal Co Council to grant an immediate interim increase in the passenger cap at Dublin Airport pending a decision on the application. Quote taken from the times. Is that possible for Fingal to grant immediate increase?

Her mates are also my mates so have all ready told a few of them, We be at the Depeche mode concert the night before so we be probably hanging getting on the flight. Will just tell her seats are the normal position 3 rows from the aft door. And let her wall down a row and call her back.

Rumours on twitter of a new airline to Raleigh Durham and apparently its EI to DUB?

    Has anyone else heard anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,121 ✭✭✭Captain_Crash

RDU is an AA hub so it wouldn’t surprise me if a route there! Would have guessed it would be AA tho 🤷🏻‍♂️

Been long rumoured so wouldn’t be a huge surprise but RDU is remarkably well connected with Europe already, especially for an airport its size. It currently has flights to LHR, CDG, KEF and soon FRA so Aer Lingus doesn’t have the lucrative first mover advantage like it had at BDL and CLE which obviously came with lots of incentives and in some cases, cold hard cash.

If they do launch RDU before the likes of BNA, they must see a strong market for it as I’ve no doubt BNA would have been very keen to get Aer Lingus in town.

It is usually MAN, Heathrow, Paris and Rome on the early morning run before doing a transatlantic run in the afternoon.

    It’s DUB-LHR/MUC/VCE this year and SNN-LHR/CDG

DUB-MAN/CDG/FCO are back on the 320 for the summer and FCO is being increased to 3 daily with 320 overnighting in FCO
