Rather than uploading directly to Boards, I will embed my tweet of the storm comparison table because at least that way it will be readable unlike the silly compression Boards applies to the image.

As I say in the tweet, Isha had the highest national average for wind gusts since Darwin in 2014. 5 stations didn't reach any warning level which is more than some of those I've mentioned yesterday but the high gusts from other stations and large wind field make it the most intense since 2014.

Ballyhaise had its highest gust since Ali (Sep 2018).

Casement had its highest gust since Ciara (Feb 2020).

Claremorris had its highest gust since Eleanor (Jan 2018).

Dublin Apt had its equal highest gust since Ali (Sep 2018).

Dunsany had its equal highest gust since Ali (Sep 2018).

Finner Camp had its highest gust since Ulli (Jan 2012).

Gurteen had its highest gust since Ali (Sep 2018).

Yes that last line is very relevant. I have a few neighbours in their 50s not far from me. I'll call up to see if they are okay this afternoon, although things around here were not too bad but no harm checking in on them

Chanced a 6km walk this morning. Hmmmmm.......3 short, sharp hail showers, couple of severe gusts and many many parts of trees and telephone cables down. We have no Internet, lost a few large shrubs and mini trees but still have Esb....Yey!!

Isha definitely packed a punch, even in SW Donegal here a lot of trees down which I wouldn't of seen much of in recent times.

Its still very windy out and some very strong gusts.

ME did quite well on this one I think. It was a significant storm albeit a pussycat compared to the unnamed big storms of the 70s, 80s and 90s. As per sryan's table

I think we did ok here, no damage that I can tell unless my plants on the front porch got blown away. Woke up with no broadband and also no mobile signal of any kind. Broadband didn't come back until near 12pm but thankfully we've had electricity the whole time. Quite a lot of damage and trees down here in Sligo

temperature just plummeted and a large hail shower in Galway

Looking at the two (brilliant) Sryanbruen tables posted above its interesting, even allowing for Isha, that there has been a greater concentration of big storms in the SW than the NW since ca 2017 - eventthough historically the biggest storms are in the NW.

Other thing to jump out was that the joint highest recorded gust I could see was in 1995 in Rosslare? Date and location a surprise to me I must say ....

Had to clear a few trees with the tractor in the small road I live in..

Got an awful hail shower about an hour ago, crazy gusts. Thought the tractor might go over

Could I just say thank you please to all the experts here who gave so generously of their time and knowledge during Storm Isha. It really is appreciated.

This seems to align with what I seemed to feel anecdotally. While on average we seem to get more frequent severe wind events, we are not getting winds as high as we sometimes did in the 80s and 90's.

Or else they moved their guages.

West Sligo and still no power or phone signal, estimated repair time of 12 noon on Wednesday. Thankfully I work in the next village that does have power, the whole area without power seems to be in Enniscrone today for food and hot drinks.

Am recharging everything I need here at work for tonight again.

58 years old and managing to mind myself for now.

Take care @muddypaws that's a long time to be without electricity. I hope you brought a flask with you to fill up at work too :)

Horrendous conditions here at the moment in Donegal, very powerful gusts , its a storm in itself. Hail and sleet in the mix too.

The water has been off all day here and they’re estimating Thursday that it will be back on. Reason stated is due to power outages

My power came back yesterday for 5 minutes before it went again and only got the power back now again, so nearly 24 hours without power here.

Couldn't upload this yesterday, sound of the wind here in Kerry late afternoon when it really picked up, was tucked in behind the garage, big gust around 30sec.

This storm defo reminded me of storm Darwin in terms of wind field and the amount of power cuts i mean 235,000 which I think is on par with Darwin, although we have our 10th storm tomorrow it won't be as bad as yesterday but still along western coastal areas it will ,I'm still shocked my power didn't go yesterday after me having my survival kit ready

Your good boy scout actions may yet be needed if a few damaged trees take out the lines tomorrow evening
