I made no mention of anything to do with "the right" at all. I was merely musing on the cohorts of people who do not object or are neutral about the current IPA and refugee system.

Would you have any views on my "list" as I'm curious about those who just refuse to acknowledge that we actually have a problem here.

Nobody has any issue with legal migrants, we need them desperately and there has never ever been an issue with same, I'm not sure why you bring this up.

The concern is with illegal immigrants(specifically economic migrants), dumping their documentation so it's impossible to determine country of origin, whether they have committed crimes in the past and the government just dumping single males of this type in rural communities around the country.

These single male economic migrants are also using essential resources which could actually be used for actual refugees like Ukranians, but the left will ignore that of course, infinite resources, infinite illegal immigration.

And free and easy access to birth control for all women in the countries you talk about ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 889 ✭✭✭Juran

You are right to be worried. She has worked and contributed and isnt depending on welfare or free housing.

If she was on the dole, never worked, getting HAP or in council house, few kids & child benefit galore, and possibly the huband on the dole as well (ie. A Taxi driver) and lied her way through the asylum system, then she'd be safe as houses.

Its the sad reality of this country, snd every second person you talk to can give you an example of the above..

It was nice of Russia to let them home on holiday at Christmas though.

Is there more to that statement? I don’t follow what you are referring to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,210 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

The shinners are very quiet on the whole immigration subject, its almost as if its the one subject they don't want to talk about.

They've destroyed themselves, I'm glad of their current stance as I would have given them a vote but would never give them a vote now, same crap as FFG.

Ukrainians come here fleeing a war because they can't live in their own country but the Government said they could return last Christmas on holiday.

It makes a mockery of the whole thing.

    The Irish government yeah?

I must have missed that news report.

Just to be clear, you’re saying the Irish government released a statement that some Ukrainian people left Ireland to return home just for Christmas and presumably have since returned for asylum in Ireland?

Edit: just searched and found that was allowed for a couple of weeks over Christmas. Not that Russia allowed anything, just the Irish government was allowing free movement as a gesture. I think that is a good policy, those people have been through enough hardship, a trip home if they even have a home to go to is nothing to begrudge them.

The ones who have premises sized suitably. What about all the rest and the many related tourism businesses not involved in accommodation provision?

Biggest own goal in history of Irish politics. They’ve had 2 years to stand up against this madness and done nothing.

I don't imagine say the few Jewish war refugees who arrived here in the Emergency were going home for Christmas... or many other war refugees we have.

I have an issue with 'legal' migrants.

More specifically that we've given out far too many of the wrong work visas.

We've far too many IT and Pharma workers and not enough construction, medical, teachers.

I don't think the tax contributions from IT and Pharma workers, which are often subsidized through the IDA, are worth it for the impact on services and housing costs.

Not to mention that so much of that tax income is wasted by this FFG government.

My feelings exactly. They are pretty pathetic these days, coming an Ethno Nationalist background. Turncoats.

Sure they can go wherever they have family, didn’t mean they had to go back to Ukraine, if their families were split up across Europe at least they had the opportunity to go and be with them for a small while.

Even if they did go to Ukraine, going there for a short time might be worth it to them to see their families, while at the same time it’d still be safer to leave their country while the war is ongoing.

There was also the possibility that if they went home for Christmas they might have ended up staying there.

I'm hearing a lot more of - 'Increased families arriving' - from various Govt talking heads lately. No surprise there. These people are cute hoors

The incoming economic migrants are adapting their MO to suit the evolving situation. The old MO was for the lads to come on their own with a view to reunification of family at a later date - But recently as a single lad was just given a tent, sleeping bag and a voucher - the new MO is to bring the family over with them as they know they will get accommodation as a family, and this is where the extra pressure we've seen in the last few weeks is coming from

They are playing us like a fiddle and the Govt seem intent on making sure that the fiddle remains perfectly tuned at 440 hz (concert pitch)

Boo will not be a happy puppy

But if your Irish and in emergency accommodation and leave for 4 consecutive nights I believe you automatically lose your accommodation, where the Ukrainians were told they could leave for 4 weeks and keep their accommodation,

    That's unbelievable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,028 ✭✭✭Jump_In_Jack

where did you get 4 weeks from? I read it was Dec 22nd to Jan 8th

Citywest hotel went from a loss Making hotel that was being split up and sold off especially the land which they are seeking to build an estate full of apartments Just off it's golf course to now making 25 million per year since covid in government contracts and despite being completely closed to the general public,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

They can apply to leave for longer and has to be agreed in advance with the Ukraine Crisis Temporary Accommodation Team (UCTAT) in advance....

But again if your Irish and in emergency accommodation you will loose your accommodation for being away for a few days,

That may be how they want to play it, they are not actually managerially competent enough to pull it off.

What is probably going to save us from this nightmare is the governments kack handed method of carrying out their madness, and to think they could get away with it, pure eeejitry trying to steam roll this shitshow through.

How many advisors do they have? They should be fired because they are utterly, pathetically , useless. Imagine having a Masters or Phd in political science and being so isolated from the ground level. All education and no intelligence.

But this is already over I think, they have lost they room, and no matter how many community hotels they buy for us , its over, they have lost the argument, not that they have every tried to argue their point .The country has turned.

The roof will blow of the country proper before these children of  Ephialtes get their way....

The political and media class in Ireland are way to comfortable with no repercussions and accountability, its high time this nation grabbed them by the balls and squeeze till the pips squeak.

City West Hotel went from being bought for 35 million to getting a government contract for 35 million for housing immigrants for 1 year, that was in 2021-2022 as far as I remember no doubt they are enjoying the millions of surplus in 2023( tax payers money ).

Also very convenient that the price paid was equal to the government contract price for 1 year.

The info is out there, it's verifiable, I remember reading in 2021 and why the f**k I wasn't involved in the hotel business.

What pains me is paying 52% tax above a certain level to finance buddies of the government for this farce.

Laughable turnout at the dail today lol. Goes to show that online bots and accounts are not reflective of what the general public actually think.

The mask has slipped further with the shinners this week.with Martin Browne getting a slap/kneecapping from Matt carty for going to Roscrea last Saturday, and the new lad they have running in the local elections in Roscrea area basically saying we have moral obligation and legal responsibility the shinners showed anyone paying attention that they will be as bad as ffg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

I'm pretty sure they got 25 million per year during covid too so that was 75 million over 3 years before they got the contract for asylum seekers,

Over 100 million to a hotel thats hasn't opened to the general public for 4 years

Woke people on Twitter and Roderic O'Gorman are not representative of the voting priorities of the Irish people.

Who could have seen that coming.

    Speaking of 1+1 making 2...

Many of these people fleeing torture and oppressive regimes are doing so because they don't support them in the first place or have been attacked for being LGBTQ themselves for. example.

To say that all asylum seekers want to impose Sharia Law is a simplistic and infantile argument being sold to some very simple people.
