Very frosty in west Galway this morning.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

They'll be fine, they get enough snow over there, don't tell anyone on Netweather I said that

Lovely wintery scenes- well, on the windscreen of my car anyway.

Conditions very bad today in North inishowen. We only had a yellow warning, yet a lot of roads are treacherous and a lot of schools are closed.

Anybody with a good view of Errigal? Has it got its winter cap on? Thinking of heading tomorrow. Undecided on location.

Latest UKV temp charts suggest the current monthly low of miunus 6.7c at Moore Park is likely to be surpassed. A minus 8 reading for West Cork for tomorrow morn and minus 9c for tomorrow night. The Rebels are even challenging the coldest spots in Scotland. If ye can't have snow, by jesus you will try and win another way.

Proper flakes now! Settling too!!! Fantastic stuff.

Hopefully it makes it down to Clare for WolfeEire for all his efforts in keeping us updated!

Just in case you have to drive through parts of Northern Ireland to get there, please be aware there’s a general strike on tomorrow.

None of the roads will be gritted in the morning making even the main routes treacherous.

Garron Noone has snow in Ballina Co. Mayo, it looks lovely on his bins, almost enough for a snowball, almost.

Yeah that's my worry. Probably will have to detour to somewhere else or head back. Have wanted to get it with its winter cap reflected in Dunlewey for a while. Knew I should have booked a stay over.

Thanks Nacho. Radar coverage is appalling these days. I see Shannon radar is down too.

Would love to see proper radar coverage for Ireland.

Who is he? The sun is out now but the good news is it not melting the sprinkling of snow. This is the difference between snow in the heart of winter and late season snow.

Moderate to heavy snow showers in the north of Ulster this morning.

    image.png image.png

Additionally, there's a massive area of big heavy snow showers off to the north but moving south. I'm wondering if this could be surprise snow for the north later.......possibly areas further south too?

A 30 degrees flow shift and the east could have at least grabbed a few snow flurries from this cold snap.

    Oh well

Wouldn't rule out a shower clipping the Wexford coast at some point

The sun is out for too long now

I am kind of getting greedy like Gollum. Its a pity we can't have an active trough pop us that gives me more snow and perhaps also will give snowfall a bit more widely too.
