Absolute nothing match that. Should be at best on the undercard of something then it would be borderline worth a watch.

That’s fair enough. Not really one to bother with though. Chance for Pulev to retire with a ‘belt’

It’s about time charr had it taken from him, he’s had it for about 6 years without a defence I think

    This day 4 weeks it’s fight-week!!!

Any idea on the fighters' purses for this?

I'd be guessing 30-40 million pounds sterling flat fee type range

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,487 ✭✭✭squinn2912

There was talk of £121m but hard to know exactly what they’re getting. Enough is the answer!

Tyson Fury's promoter Bob Arum has declared that the world heavyweight champion will earn in excess of £100million for his fight with Oleksandr Usyk, breaking an heavyweight record.

I had a feeling my 30-40 million pounds looked a lil cheap!!!

so the bloke running the show in saudi was just at the AJ press conference (knockout chaos) and said after this fight he wants the winner to fight the winner of fury v usyk

Zhang vs Parker on the AJ undercard. Great fight.

Opetai vs Breidis 2 on the Fury/Usyk undercard also a cracker.

Give it to Joshua his cards are insane if all

of these fights come to pass. If he beats Ngannou then that’s so shrewd in terms of negotiating power to fight for belts again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,753 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

its a bit mad to think he can skip hrgovic and fight a boxing novice to get a crack at the belts again so quickly

It’s insane but that’s almost Fury’s fault in the first place. Hrgovic losing out bigtime. Who the hell does he fight?

Wardley and Clarke talking about fighting in March. How will that one go? I think Wardley and hope so too, Clarke is a dirty bastard

Bit off topic but I just saw a documentary about Frank Bruno V Mike Tyson from back in the day. Bruno took some awful hidings. Very sad how it ended with him.

I actually hate boxing at this point. If they didn't want to fight each other until the money was right that would be one thing, but the fact that the fights eventually happen in these soulless disgusting oil rich sh1t holes is really hard to get behind. Boxing is absolute bollocks. Hate boxing. Why isn't Fury fighting Usyk in MSG? This sport is a ghey instagram pile of sh1t now. Boxing sucks.

Nick Ball v Rey Vargas a tasty WBC world title at 126 lbs on the AJ card

Hrgovic has been left out in the cold, can’t blame that on fury

I reckon if fury wins undisputed he will dump the belts, he’s already said he will throw away the ibf

Looking forward to seeing Usyk dance rings around the big dosser.

If Fury takes it seriously and is fit then Usyk has no hope. He can keep him at distance with his jab and then lean on top of him on the ropes to get a breather. The size difference is just too much if Fury is in shape.

Hrgovic is really getting screwed over. It shows how crooked boxing is when the best prospect can't get a fight.

He's the only person to beat Zhang and none of the others want to fight him or Zhang.

You can say what you like about Joyce but he never turned down anybody. It cost him and that's what the rest are trying to avoid.

If Fury takes it seriously. If Fury is fit…..

so, if he loses it’s because of above?…

best man wins on the night simple as that, the exciting thing about boxing is anything can happen and more so in the heavyweight division and i am expecting the fight next month to be edge of the seat stuff its just a shame the under card is so underwhelming

Nah I meant that it’s his fault (as such) that Ngannou might now get a title shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,487 ✭✭✭squinn2912

Well now when he was matched with De Moiri he needn’t be expecting a big fight after that. I dont think the really big hitters would fear Hrgovic all that much. Though when you look at the shots he took from Zhang there’s plenty of resilience in him. He looked very disinterested that night. I think his father died not long beforehand.

Agree with you here. If Fury is better he wins if Usyk is better he wins they each have attributes that can trouble the other. We’ll see. On the undercard we’re still not even sure what else is on meanwhile the Joshua undercard is pretty stacked. He’s really stolen a march
