    Hi,

For a very common model like a Toyota Aqua or Honda Fit is it necessary to buy a Certificate of Conformity(CoC) which seems to cost about 300 quid from most online sources or can the information regarding conformity to safety and emmission standards be found elsewhere at a reasonable rate or without cost? What will satisfy the Staff in the NCT?

I am looking to get something cheap, clean and servicable which will stand me in good stead for decade or more and a lightly used JDM hatchback would fit the bill.

    Thanks in advance.

I suppose answers are slow as the Q is unclear, Have you imported this car, did it not come with a COC?

Even you do import it, The paperwork with the car should include what you need to register is then.

    Or just use an agent.

I doubt you’d need a cert of conformity on an Aqua or a Fit as they register so many of them. Do your homework in terms of which specs to import. The basic Aquas don’t have an immobiliser for example.
