As the title says.

I'm with 48 for last 5 years now in the old €7.99 deal and happy with connection. Roaming is a pain abroad though, but I usually just order a SIM from Amazon before going.

Offer ends in 2 days.

Refer a friend for €10 credit. So I suppose we could do a referral chain by PM, fell free to pm me, then next on list gets it.

I think the 2 day count down on their page is for the SIM to be delivered for Christmas. The price has been 12.99 for a long time now. Unless they're putting it up? Roaming only seems to be a problem if you don't go into the SIM menu and select "when abroad" options. I've never had a problem in the UK or France but maybe I've been lucky.

Ok thanks I'll check out the roaming suggestions. I thought it was a good bargain compared to the other €20 per month offerings from other companies.

I don't know, I just saw the add. I have family on the €20 plans with VM and Eir. So I'm switching.

I think it's a bargain anyway.

Yes, it's their current standard plan.

There's also a 12.99 activation fee, charged when you buy your first month's plan.

On my android there is an app called SIM toolkit. One of the menu options is When Abroad and you can manually select international. You'll have to select national when you come home.

You used to have to do this on their early SIM cards, on iOS it’s in sim settings.

They promoted a new SIM card recently, you can request one in app and it’s supposed to auto change when roaming. It worked flawlessly for me in Turkey last year.

That was the old 48 months. I remember signing up a colleague to them. You had to enter a date of birth that meant you were between the ages of 18-22 at the time, hence the name 48 months.

Aimed at a “youth” network.

When “48” launched (as in the OP) it was vastly different to the 48 months endeavor.

Yes originally they were trying to aim at the youth market, but the whole 18 - 22 limitation is actually illegal, it was easily bypassed at the time and they quickly dropped it.

Folks who signed up for 48 months originally are still on 48 and can use the same sim card, etc.
