Drone rules and registration

    Hi folks.

I just got my first ever drone. Happy days Or so I thought.

I surely should have looked up the rules on flying a drone long before I invested in one.

It being below 250g gave me the impression that it could be flown most places.

Obviously not near airports an such.

Is there anyone on here that can take a minute to explain to a complete novice exactly what I need to do in order to fly my drone legally.

    It's a DJI mini 3. 249g.

In anticipation of your kind help I thank you.

Do not fly over 400 ft AGL

you need complete line of sight control over the drone at all times

Do not fly over groups of people

Learn the restricted areas where you're going to fly it.

You don't need to register it, but it's a good idea to anyway. Then you'll have an IAA sticker that can be used to return it to you of it gets lost.

Even if the drone is less than 250gm you have to register with IAA if the drone has a camera, which is the case with the DJI mini
