Yes but it's not the first time they've done this.

Leave Keegan in Castlebar, where his his razor sharp intellect and analytical mind could tell us all the nuances otlf that game, while he could make more general, bland comments on the game in Limerick that he's not actually at.

Instead, we get bland comments about both gMws🙄

There are more Munster hurling games this year than in most of those years.

I bought iptv smarters pro and rte 2 is the only bloody channels not working my connect said it will work but I'm new to it. Im a big fan of gaa can people still see games that are on rte through the gas go channels on iptv smarters pro. I'm looking to watch Limerick v Cork

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,377 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Does gaago not carry the rte2 games as well? They tend to have the tg4 games on at the same time?

Got an email from GAAGO warning me if I don’t use the credits I bought before the season runs out, the credits lose their validity…

Apparently I can’t use them for next season.

Theres now a native app for Samsung smart Tvs .

The initial startup after installation took a minute or more, no idea what was going on there.

Log in was straight forward. If you are logged in on your phone, you can enter a code off the Telly and then it "pairs" to your account and youre in in no time with no major messing about.

The user interface is a little different than the website but works well. The picture quality is no better than before, eg, super clear graphics and whatnot but not near as high res when theres action. Our internet is 100meg download with the new telly connected by 5ghz wifi so any issues arent on our side .

They've left it the exact same as last year, even after all the controversy! Incredible

Vast majority of the Munster hurling championship, majority of the football round robins, all 4 prelim quarter finals and 2 full quarter finals, once again not on TV.

Its an agreement between themselves and RTE, how on earth could the contract not be rewritten to allow more coverage after the scandal of last season. RTE said they'd show more if the agreement allowed it

And at the very least, if the amount of games couldn't be increased, surely the live games themselves could be chosen better. We're once again getting meaningless provincial championship football games on RTE 2 while two actual quarter finals, the 4th and 5th biggest games of the year, are back on this dodgy stream

I see the Early Bird pass price (subscribe before December 31st) has gone up by a tenner as well. Now €69. Early Bird offer is also only available to new subscribers. Otherwise the price is the same as last year (€79).

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,390 ✭✭✭roosterman71

My account says the subscription is paid on the page detailing the 2024 games, yet I didn't pay anything since April. Is that a glitch or what? Don't want to be forking out the extra tenner if they auto-renew at the 79

€69 offer for new subscribers only? Screenshot from GAA Go’s site.

    Am I dreaming reading this.

    Tis crazy.

Worse if anything than last year.

We need to mobilise and protest next weekend and tell HQ where to stick this schedule.

GAA GO is a total and utter disaster for rural Ireland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,380 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

Also a disaster for exposure for the game of hurling.

Nothing (so far) either on how much they’ll charge per game. If they go with the €12 a game again in 2024, it will illustrate they haven’t taken on board any of the criticism they got this year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 142 ✭✭NJSC1980

I think it can be taken as a given that it won’t be less than €12. €15 is probably their desired price point.

  • Registered Users Posts: 468 ✭✭Avon8

It's 12 euro with an added option of "buy 2, get a third game free" at some point later in the year. Fogarty tweeted it earlier

    Yep. From the Irish Examiner:

Cost per individual game is still too high IMO. €7 would have been more reasonable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 97 ✭✭RamonD3

It's set up that you auto renew unless you elect otherwise. You can opt out by managing subscriptions

It's some cod to pick out 3/4 of Corks games and their meaningful football game in munster. They're the best supporters and it's only a cash grab. Add to that selecting the 2 Waterford home games which will be full capacity you'd think.

Personally I would still pay the 79 if the service was any way reliable but the games I saw last year I was fit to launch the phone at the wall with all the buffering! A shame because I never had an issue with LOI streaming so is perfectly capable of being properly run here.

Looks like i'll be tuning into a lot of live games on the radio again next year which i don't mind. Especially if the Saturday Game shows extensive highlights of most of the big Saturday games.

Yep, that's what I did. Most of the local radio stations have apps for the phone along with RTE. Handy if you're out and about and want to listen to a commentary.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,976 ✭✭✭Billy Ocean

The ppv complaint regards GAAGO I wouldn't pay much heed too as in reality that's existed since 2014 with the Sky deal and 69 for that amount of games is decent, this is essentially a replacement of Sky's coverage. The 2 bits that annoy me are if someone isn't tech savvy it can be a nightmare add in the poor quality wifi in certain parts of the country, also RTE's involvement is surely a conflict on interest, no way would Sky get 4 of the 11 Munster championship games I'd say 2 at most, also certain things in Montrose that came to light this year wouldn't fill you with confidence regards governance, e.g Dee Forbes was on the board of GAAGO until recently enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,159 ✭✭✭jelutong

I thought they might the split hurling and football coverage. I don’t watch football.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,679 ✭✭✭thesultan

How can they not cover Limerick and Cork?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,976 ✭✭✭Billy Ocean

I think RTE have all the provincial finals in both codes and the 4 football finals are all that weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 70 ✭✭mistermiyagi

I find it impossible to believe that RTE had first choice and turned down the chance to show Cork v Limerick in hurling.

If the back up was Sky and not GAAGO, RTE would def be showing it. Sky lived off scraps before. Now it's like the other way around.

The GAA argument lacks all credibility. It all looks a stitch up.

Possibly so, Sky had only 1 Munster hurling game in 22 Limerick v Waterford which at the time in fairness was 1st and 2nd favourites for the All Ireland.
