And to think if only they were getting millions every year for the kind of security to keep their kids safe i.e. to make them feel like the VVIP's they believe themselves to be, if only they were personally getting half a million quid each every year for showing up at places like the Royal Albert Hall a couple of times a year and when they wanted to because they should be paid and get 5 star treatment/expenses paid because that according to them is what service actually is, if only they were given Windsor Castle just for themselves with no sharing when Harry shouted "Bagsy Windsor Gan Gan!" because it would also make amends for having no window in the Castle he grew up in, if only they were allowed to mint it commercially in America as their Royal Highnesses as high end influencers because, you see, the Queen doesn't own the word Royal then we'd never know about Charles and Catherine talking about who a kid in a mixed race couple they're related to might take after looks wise, being racists, having unconscious bias.

Exactly. This whole thing is a massive car crash of a tantrum about not getting their own way. Embarrassing.

Literally everyone discusses what a new baby coming in to the family might look like, including hair color and skin tone. I don't think it was malicious at all. Thats why they had to make the nonsense insinuation on Oprah that his skin tone had something to do with his titles, to make it seem like something worse.

We all discussed this at the time of the interview, people hoping the child doesn't inherit one parent's nose, hoping they inherit one parent's brains etc.

No malicious intent and the parents to be laugh along too. Easy to do when you can't try to monetise it I suppose.

Growing up in that family did he have any chance? At least he's learnt his lesson and matured.

Great point about the title. It was on an American network for an American audience. They couldn't go on and say they left because of the press because saying tabloids are awful isn't earth shattering. Oprah would need something more. They needed a narrative and what would have been a conversation of natural curiosity about how any kids they have might look was twisted and weaponised into "concerns" about complexion with the idea that their son wasn't automatically titled as a Prince when born serving as evidence that these concerns were acted upon.

Since it would predominantly be an American target audience, then it depended on that audience not bothering to actually dive into what the protocol really was which was that their son would be a Prince but in time according to the rules. I also doubt a sympathetic Oprah was going to let facts get in the way of ratings. It really was a brilliant piece of victim playing i.e. The rules were changed for Williams kids but not for our child and by not doing it for Archie then it is obviously proof of racism, the only important title for me is Mom but we just want our son to be a Prince because it will give us security which these racists won't provide for our kid. I doubt many in the target American audience were reading the extensive British media and coverage which corrected all this for anyone interested in hearing more and so the target audience would be none the wiser other than feeling a broad sympathy for the Sussexes.

(Translation: We don't want to pay for the level of security which will satiate our egos ourselves and so we're happy to engage in emotional manipulation by using our kid to pull at peoples heart strings and clap back at those who cut us off financially)

Mother a god, are folks still trying to desperately cling to this “I wonder what the baby will look like” nonsense to carry on their racism scutter?

    Literally everyone

    Literally? ah no.

I have never been concerned about how dark a mix raced baby's skin will be let alone aired those concerns.

I can see why the Royal Family would have concerns though.

You’re taking just one perspective of a two-way conversation between two or more people without even recognising the fact that a statement was made previously by the other party(s) to the effect that recollections may vary on just what was said.

But no, the RF or those involved in that conversation are “racist” - do you always add two and two together and get six? Do you in any way question information provided by a source that has obviously, and time and time again, lied and constructed so called “truths” for their own money making agenda?

You appear to be very naive and gullible.

I used to know an Irish woman years ago, married to a Malaysian- she was pregnant at the time. Obviously Ireland 30 years ago had a lot less ethnicity than it does today but every mixed Asian ethnicity toddler she came across (which wasn’t many) she’d be wondering out loud saying things like “I wonder what sort of eyes he’ll/she’ll have” “I wonder will he /she inherit my family hair or the fathers hair” - all she was trying to do was picture her child - that’s all, nothing more dramatic than that - she was an expectant mother excited about having a child.

What did you expect Lizzy to say, yeah my son and his daughter in law were being racist shíts?

No denial has taken place and still hasn't.

    Naïve, gullible, something something.

Afraid so - just demonstrates the total lack of intelligence of some people that they take as gospel every word the proven liars and trolls H&M have been - takes one to know one I guess

So thanks for confirming that you’re taking H&Ms word on everything as the truth and definitive version of events- it gives me a clear perspective now on the level of intelligence I’m dealing with here.

She inferred that it wasn’t- she was being ever so polite - she wouldn’t never have stated someone was lying, especially not her grandson or grand daughter in law, and definitely not publicly - she was too good a diplomat for that to ever happen - but I can see yet again that you have a very black and white view of the world- subtlety and nuance aren’t the in your sphere of understanding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,502 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

Nonsense, there would have been an outright denial if it wasn't true.

This is a big story that continues to rumble.

Like I said subtlety is not your strong point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,603 ✭✭✭valoren

Meghan has been proven to be a liar. I don't know about you but when a proven liar is literally the only person saying "concerns" were raised then I'd be very sceptical at a minimum. She had a motive to attack the family and in my mind needed to put racial bells and whistles on whatever she could.

Throw in the fact that in the interview they couldn't even get their bloody story about it straight initially (one conversation before they married versus multiple while she was pregnant). Very jarring. Ffs, did they even talk about it beforehand? They've both since watered down the concerns as well. But to you this damages people you demonstrably don't like and so you'll happily avoid facing facts. That's how I'm seeing your persistent dodging and deflection on this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,502 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

I don't think in this day age subtlety should be afforded to racism.

    No place for it.

TBF I wouldn't be the outlier here.

Again the pertinent point is there has been zero denial of Markles claims.

Largely because I imagine she has the receipts. i.e. the letters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,502 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

    Victim blaming 101.

Again there has been no denial.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,603 ✭✭✭valoren

Victim playing 101. There has been no verification from Montecito.

There you go again pedalling Meaghan's “truth”- I don’t know what’s more frightening, Meaghan's “truth” or you falling for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,557 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Stop pretending, Boggles. You know you’re on a wind up here, and so to those you think you’re winding up. Exact same nonsense on Martens thread. You know it’s an absolute vacuous nothing story. We all do

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,502 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

The facts are her claims have not being denied.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,502 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

    nothing story

It's been in the headlines all week and continues to be. So no.
