Router for PAYG SIM

Hi folks, looking for a router which would take an Eir PAYG SIM.

Want to set up a mifi or WiFi system for a relative who just needs WiFi for her doorbell and TV.

Something in the €100 to €150 range. The house is in Dublin and internet speeds on my phone with Gomo and my wife's Eir SIM are pretty reasonable when we are in their house.

Anyone see any black Friday deals that might suit.

Cheers never thought 9f Harvey Norman. Thought I'd have to get it from outside Ireland.

Any opinions on these 2. Would they possibly give a wider signal range. Is the 2nd one 4g compatible would anyone know

There are plenty of 4g routers for sale on the second hand market. Adverts, done deal, Facebook marketplace. As long as they are unlocked they will work just fine. I'm guessing around 50euro for one.

Using a Huwaei mifi router, was originally on 3broadband plan but cancelled that as soon as I could. Since then have been using the same router with a pay as you go sim from 3mobile.

Should be able to pick up similar for peanuts as unlike Vodafone who always ask for their routers back (with menaces), 3mobile aren't interested in anything a few years old

Ive got a few bits of TP-Link kit around here. They are cheap and cheerful but do the job. I've never had any complaints with any of them.

I used a Huawei B593s-22 unlocked router with a Three SIM card for several years while waiting for FTTH. Although a dated router you can probably pick one up for under €100.

That was my situation recently. Had a Vodafone broadband ADSL connection down the country where the upload speed was too low to watch some security cameras remotely. I just needed a reasonably stable connection and found that eir 4G beat the wired connection.

So I got a TP-Link MR6400 4G router on Adverts for e50, good as new. I've ended up with a e15 per month GoMo subscription and it beats the hell out of the Vodafone e50 option. Should be ideal for you. WiFi range is not too bad either.

That router works with an eir/GoMo SIM out of the box (you don't need with mess with APNs). It didn't work with Vodafone without some tweaking and even then Vodafone performance was not as good as eir.
