Feed too attic

Hi

we are making a room up in the attic.

we need 1 light &light switch as well as 2 double sockets (1 either side) and 1 single socket up there.

would it be best too run supply wires back too the board ? Or branch of current supply below the attic ?

One light or one socket can be spurred off, anything more goes back to the board.

Definitely wire back to the board, so that's a job for a professional sparks.

It would be 3 sockets and 1 light & light switch so back too the board it is.

can someone explain about the need to go ‘back to the board’ if doing as above ie more than one socket and light……do you need to put in a separate circuit breaker for the additional sockets and additional lights or connect them each to an existing MCB at the board..?

We went back to board as it’s a new feed going in totally separate to the attic.

we needed a breaker installed at the board too as sparks said there was none available at the board.

Still not clear why you need to go back to the ‘board’ for a simple additional socket and light despite where it’s located. I obviously don’t know enough about electrical regs/rules etc and the theory behind it…?

We ended up with 2 double sockets,1 single socket,1 light and 1 light switch up there so we went with 1 simple feed to attic.

we could of cut into existing system up there but you would be expanding the load up there so it’s much more simple too go back too the board.

Ok. Think I’ve got it now…😀 I want to do something similar but only one light and one double socket. Going back to boards is a major chore based on where it is located but if it needs to be done then so be it….
