Not necessarily I am pretty sure there are some crimes if you are convicted can stop you from running from office

Kemp wouldn't even if he could.

Trump went hard after him over the stolen election drivel and and then tried to beat him in the 2022 GOP governor primary with one of his inner circle and obviously it did not go well for Trump. Kemp is popular in the state because while he is clearly very conservative he is also his own man and has been quite content to go after Trump the last few years.

No foundation but if Trump wins you can bet your bottom dollar the corruption will be manifestly worse than any cronyism or grey areas born from 2016+. Trump has already spoken of "revenge" and this is why these various court cases need to be wrapped up by November next year. The die has been cast & Trump will absolutely rampage across American judiciary and societal norms if he wins again.

Can someone clear something up for me.

    Biden comfortably won in 2020.

Trump and Biden are tied in the polls.

Is this because people are saying they’ll abstain as Biden is too old, or that they now support Trump (but didn’t in the past) or they’re switching from Biden to Trump?

I just don’t get what Trump has done in the last 3 years except whine. I can’t see what he is doing to woo the middle ground (aka the voters that decide elections). What are his positive policies for the middle class? All I see is him whining about being politically attacked and what he’ll do to his enemies if he gets back in.

If Trump does prevail, with the background of his incessant whining, the many many court cases, how recent elections have favoured Dems by a long shot, I will genuinely be more shocked than his win in 2016 and Brexit combined.

True but at least he doesn't even have to justify that position with MAGA

I do think Age is a factor but it's also down to a slightly inert economy much like a lot of places ATM, the so-called "Bidenomics" not endearing everyone - plus that general slump many Presidents suffer from as they approach reelection; Obama was trailing in the polls to Romney for much of the pre-2012 election period - and he still got elected 'cos when the rubber hit the road, better the devil you know.

Don't need one. It's fairly well documented at this point that America's Nazis have been quietly hard at work preparing legislation and recruiting cultists. A second Trump presidency is probably the worst thing that could happen to the world. The GOP will retake the presidency at some point in the future but hopefully, Trump will no longer be in the political arena then.

    The "foundation" is absolutely there.

He has already clearly called out his intention to fire anyone in the Federal Government he considers "disloyal" and replace them with lackeys solely focussed on doing his bidding.

He talking about Mass-Internment camps for "illegal immigrants" (likely run at huge cost by cronies) along side mass deportations of anyone they consider to be "enemies of the state".

He will destroy the institutions of State and replace them with structures designed to allow him and his followers to extract as much money as possible from the system whilst inflicting as much pain and suffering as they possibly can to their "enemies"

Did he win it comfortably though?

I know he won the popular vote by millions but as that's not a factor when it comes to electing a president then that's irrelevant.

Looking at key electoral college states Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin Biden by a total of less than 45,000 votes which is absolutely miniscule in the grand scheme of things and gives Trump plenty to work with regarding 2024.

It was very close in 2016, 2020 and likely will be in 2024, these are 2 people who are likely to hold onto 90% of their 2020 voting blocs from last time round along with the fact they are hugely polarising figures.

Trump described his win as a landslide, so considering Biden beat Trump by the same EC votes that Trump beat Clinton, I’d say it’s fair to say it was comfortable.

Not like Trump to exaggerate his wins though?😉

Both crawled over the line in 2016 or 2020 so its understandable why people think it will be close again.

Is everyone confident that ,if Trump wins next year America will see free and fair elections again in the short/medium/long term.?

Would he do a Putin and extend his term of office indefinitely?

Would his first play be to organize a military crackdown on his political opponents?

if the GOP got control of all 3 branches of Government ?

No - They would introduce wholesale changes to laws facilitating the blocking of millions of people from voting.

His first play is what he has already said it would be - Which is to fire every single person in the Federal government that is not 100% loyal to him.

There would be a mass clear out of 10's of thousands of career civil servants, replaced by appointed boot-lickers with zero experience who will simply do as they are told by Trump operatives.

And if they lost any subsequent elections do you think they would allow the winners to be accredited?

No - They have learned from their mistakes in 2020.

Faced with a similar scenario in future elections they now know exactly how to achieve their aims - Largely by ensuring that not a single person with anything approaching morality holds a position of authority.

Take a look at what is happening in Ohio.

The residents of Ohio voted on a motion to embed abortion rights into the State constitution and it passed with a large majority.

The GOP controlled State House has responded by announcing that they are going to change the law to remove the Judiciary from the process of updating the State constitution so that they can simply ignore the will of the people and ignore the result.

The GOP will have control of the House in the Post election period and you can guarantee that they will not think twice about doing everything in their power to screw around with the certification process.

Rules and Laws don't matter to these people - Getting their own way is all they care about.

Its because the polls are worthless.

Every single election in the past 2 years sees the GOP get its ass kicked yet we are told that a Republican is favourite for the presidency?

Who are we to believe, the polls or our lying eyes...

Strange thing is, if there was a deep state, it would have happened long ago.

It appears the Trump camp is responsible for leaking states evidence to the media

Some journalists today were scratching their head why the DOJ would have released these videos to the press ahead of trial

Donald Trump's Truth Social has lost $73 million since it launched in 2022, according to a filing released by the SEC.

    Add it to the list.

So Trump, the biggiest, bestest, and most amazing winner ever, who has never done anything wrong and has done everything right, is looking to settle the case?

Given that he has already led to such a long trial, there really isn't much he can negotiate with. But I assume acceptance of a deal would remove the possibility of an appeal so NYC would get what they wanted.

I'm surprised the operating budget even went that high, given the platform's open-source origin and piss-poor implementation by the IT-dimwits Trump keeps using. I guess they must of expanded over time, or Trump has been pocketing a chuck of the investment cash....or both.

What doesn't surprise me is the $2 million in "sales" on the platform. Since they don't charge for access (as far as I know), I guess there's advertising on there. However, since Truth Social's userbase is very very niche, I suspect that the advert space on the site isn't really worth much. I expect they'll try to keep Truth Social ticking over until the election, and if Trump loses it'll probably fall over after that.

Agreed - I think part of the reason the investors have punted twice now on pulling the plug on the SPAC is the vague hope that a 2nd Trump Presidency might spark interest (or changes in legislation) that could help them get their money back.

If/when that long-shot bet fails , they will cut their losses and bail out.

funny but to be sure there are investors who don't see $ROI being the point. Like Saudis throwing billions at Elon as well. The point isn't 3% YOY profits its controlling what millions of people see and talk about. Priceless.
