Who to fix a freezer?

The freezer section of our fridge freezer has stopped working. I.e. it is no longer cold. Fridge still working.

Any recommendation on how I find a tradesperson to have a look at such a problem? I'm based in Dublin.

Between parts and labour, it might be cheaper to replace.

I have a Kenwood American type fridge freezer and after a couple of years the freezer stopped working and a bit of research on youtube and this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B099W3J4B4/ from Amazon I replaced it myself for about €23.00 in total 3 years ago and it's still going strong. If you are anyway handy at things like that it's easy enough. Took me about 30 minutes in total because I missed a screw taking the panel off! It could be the same problem with your one.

At 2 grand for these things... I'm not sure that's entirely accurate.

As above do some research first. Too many people far to fast these days to chuck repairable stuff out.

It's sad but not far off the truth.

I'm on my 6th DIY repair of an American side-by-side, but if I had a repair person in each time to fix it I'd have had the control-board replaced as many times at huge cost.

If it a frost free type unit the most likely reason for the fridge section not cold enough is that the evap where the ice is made is clogged up and the fan can’t blow the chill off the coils. This usually happens if the door or doors are left slightly ajar. Unplug it overnight to give it a chance to defrost and it should be ok
