Just to think, had they caught the head contact earlier, it possibly would have stopped the try from being scored.

Bad hit on Smith there but is it any different to the head shot on the Welsh player yesterday that wasn’t carded?

God Fiji are poor. Can't believe England will go further than us.

It was annoying watching yesterday's QF between 2 teams we'd have comfortably thumped, and watching this one is all the more difficult after last night.

Raynal killed the Fiji advantage after one phase there. Did they ask for it or was there a forward pass?

We get NZL in a QF and these clowns get Fiji...

Try Fiji. They desperately needed that after two poor penalty kick misses.

Cracking try from Big Bill. Might have been a knock on though.

Could have been a high tackle too and a very cynical infringement from England at the ruck. Lucky to get away with both.

Love to see them get a try with all the cynical sh*t England were at there...

Was a big shot by Farrell a couple of phases before the try there. Wouldn't mind seeing it again. Ended up in a wrestling match on th ground afterwards. The Fiji guy was not impressed with it....

Not even a replay shown of the try that's been a really disappointing aspect of all the coverage

Who do people fancy to win in game later?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Look at Farrell smirking at the yellow remaining a yellow. England should have arguably had two yellows already. He'd want to simmer down.

That could just as easily read “we get NZL in a QF and these clowns get England…”

Hoping for a France win and I think they have enough to do it.

I think it's going to get nasty though. Suspect SA will look to target Dupont and it'll end up with all sorts of argiebargies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,681 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

France to edge it against SA more dynamic in attack and home advantage gives them an advantage.

The boks are my 2nd favorite team. But I like France too. I hope the winner of this win the cup.

France beat nz comfortably, Ireland beat sa and got beaten by nz ,so France,it doesn't go that way though, two favourites beaten on the first day of the quarters,I still think France but not enough to back it with money

England are a cynical team to watch but they’re much smarter/cynical than their opponents and that I suspect will be enough to get them over the line today through penalties alone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,176 ✭✭✭omega man

Fiji making way too many errors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,505 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Fiji scrum penalty there. Raynal takes an age to give anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

Could Fiji at the very least make this difficult for England...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,039 ✭✭✭.Donegal.

Personally I’ll be going for the boks tonight purely because of the hatred the French have for us. L’Équipe was a cesspit last night. Irish are awful, Irish team are awful and arrogant, Irish fans are awful and disrespectful. The Irish have become the english. The list is endless. This isn’t a few fringe comments either this is from the vast vast majority.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

It show's why Ireland are the best in the world, It takes a very special team to get in people's heads that much. Considering the way Ireland play there is no other explanation for not liking the Irish team unless you just hate rugby full stop.

It certainly seems like once they have any attention on one thing they ignore what's happening. I've no idea how the afters didn't warrant an absolute minimum of a showing to and words from the ref even if what looked like the usual Farrell shoulder block was actually legal.

The early no arms tackle has to be a card for me, easy to break someone's leg like that depending on exactly how the leg ends up placed as it's struck, also flipped the player and absoutely zero pretence of legality to it.

Since the start of the tournament though it's been extremely clear this is a world rugby production as far as the coverage is concerned with nothing debatable shown unless the TMO is stepping in. They probably think it makes the game look better by hiding the controversy but instead it makes the game look worse as everyone assumes they keep missing things or letting them go.

That's the general rhetoric on social media from most fans accross the globe.

Many Irish Rugby fans had became very arrogant recently

We just lost in the quarter final of a world cup and we are the best team in the world? Maybe that's why Frnech people think we're arrogant. 😂
