Sky Fiber BB but don't have active telephone line

Thinking of switching from Virgin Media to Sky FTH broadband, assuming this doesn't need an active telephone line ? or do I still need to re-activate the line with Eir first before switching to them ?

I made a similar switch from VM to Vodafone FTTH approx a year ago and not having a phone line presented no issues whatsoever.

You get a new fibre line to your house. It has nothing to do with the copper telephone line.

Thanks all for your comment ? Another question, the bus stop outside my estate had an Eir advert saying 2.5GbE now available in your area. But when I search on the Eir site, all they are offering me 1GbE. Similarly when I search Siro it tells me I don't have Siro in my area.

I suppose is their site 100% accurate, Does using Siro mean that the back haul connections are managed via ESB rather than Eir ?

That would be NBI's 2GB offer, so Eir are offering that on NBI's infrastructure.

Siro is another system altogether. Siro is a joint venture between the ESB and Vodaphone. Nothing to do with Eir.
