Kielty is ok. Read the thread here, look at twitter, rather than preconceived rubbish.

    Where you reading that?

I see Indo are reporting that PTSB paid less than Renault for LLS sponsorship:

The previous deal for the show was thought to be worth €800,000. The total cost to Permanent TSB is €800,000 including VAT at 23pc, putting the price at about €650,000.

Pressure kept up on him to return or donate the 150k.

Never have any future involvement with RTE / public money.

Ensure his grubby conduct here isnt whitewashed wrt other broadcasters and his reputation.

I only turned it on about ten mins ago and Patrick Kielty really shows up how bad Tubridy was.

I'm not bigging up anyone but Tubridy is an obsession with certain posters.

There were posters like walshb who had a semblance of balance. They're all gone. Why because after 3 months all the same type posts get very very boring.

    Life moves on.

Exactly. Same as myself. But in the real world a lot who gain through deceit never pay back. If it can't be proved to be illegal. Eventually you'll have to move on. Or at least draw up a good comprehensive list of corrupt people and chase all their cases. Goodnight.

In the current climate not just the rte financials and the cost of living crisis a judge thinks he's back in the early 1900s , even some TD pointed out the other day during Radio interview under EU law we the public have to fund rte as it the Only public broadcaster in Ireland that guarantees news , education, and culture and entertainment, so people have to understand we have to fund rte or brussels gets involved..

Ive zero intention of paying for a licence not now and not in the future, and then the idea of getting revenue to collect it at source ie straight from your /our paypacks is going to cause riots

Earlier in the week it was announced that no money would be made available to update the RTE Player. As the RTE Player is buggy as fu-ck with no sign of improvement soon, why do RTE commission shows for just the RTE player? Why not broadcast these shows on RTE 1 and 2 in place of the repeats they keep churning out?

First time in decades I've watched a lls without ditching off. 90 mins, perfect.

We need more northern voices heard, varadkar has only changed his tune on a united Ireland cause the kids love singing Grace along with the wolf tones.

What is it with Mary macalease, she looks younger all the time?

If you’re going to jump on a poster over a typo you really need to up your own game on that front. It’s been hard to resist the temptation not to highlight yours.

    You brought Quinn into it.

I’m only surprised you didn’t say “Tubridy is a good egg compared to Hitler”. That’s how ridiculous your Quinn comment was. Oh no, I said your comment was ridiculous - and we know from your previous comments that the use of the word ridiculous is bullying in your eyes. 🙄

You say I and others are obsessed with Tubridy, whilst ignoring your own obsessive defence of a man I suspect you’ve never met or spent time with (unlike me btw), whilst simultaneously continuing to downplay and excusing his lies, hypocrisy, wrongdoing and refusal to pay back monies he said in front of an Oireachtas committee that he would return.

Your comments on this matter are both bonkers and intriguing.

Oh come on, that's a terrible example - he was an absolute troll who changed his tune many times. He was a complete spoofer too and was only interested in his post count. Bad example. He does that little game on many threads - rowing against the current but ultimately getting caught out with his nonsense. One of the worst posters on Boards. No honour.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Poster calls posting about Ryan Tubridy on a thread about Ryan Tubridy obsessive.

    Anyway we've the keilty era.

Really liked it, couldn’t watch Tubs but Kielty is v watchable. Hes earned his chance & worked hard, unlike Tubs who was handed everything & ended up with an entitled attitude that came through in interviews.

Finally RT is just a distant memory regarding the Late Late Show. I have to say for me PK was a breath of fresh air. I will definitely be tuning in again after the deadfest RT contributed to.

Kielty shows just how **** awful a presenter tubs was. Sanctimonious entitled misery farming fianna fail twat. He won't be missed.

Even the journal comments are pretty positive....there is a first time for everything...

I see Mathematics is also not a strong point of yours. My “about 6 replies to one” of yours is factually incorrect. If you care to re-read the relevant section of the thread will see my replies are in reply to multiple (plural) posts of yours, not one (singular). Your penchant for exaggeration does not serve you well.

Where have I been showing off? Where have I said “I’m so important”? I’ve done neither, nor have I implied same. Once again your interpretations of what I posted are frankly, bizarre.

The gushing adulation for last nights show really puts things into perspective. It was mediocre at best but still a vast improvement on the dour, soulless, disingenuous excrement that was there with that talentless bean pole at the helm.

Took a look at the Indo site and there's no Tubridy puff piece today. There are a lot fo reviews of the LLS and they are positive. It is almost as if Tubridy is deservedly being memory-holed. Kielty was good and the new LLS show is very different to the Tubridy stuff.

Even the Sindo must be having second thoughts about giving Tubridy a column. Those job offers for Tubridy have not been rolling in and the whole rationale of overpaying its "talent" and management has been destroyed. Was this the first LLS in recent years where there was no NKM "talent" wasting airtime?

    Regards...jmcc

Reviews on Kielty are online pretty positive so hopefully he keeps a roll going.

Scrolling through the right swipe and rte still had tubs as the thumbnail on the late late show. I think the show last night was a real blow to the nkm "talent" line. No puff pieces today or since rte was back at Pac. I wonder is he finally getting/taking advice to keep the head down for a bit.

PK was nervous at the start I felt but warmed in nicely. The problem is really the Show can't seem to pull in any top class guests.

I'd hold fire until you see the Sunday Independent, I think they have a slightly different management that the regular Indo... they could still go full on soft rehab of Tubridy. They may be waiting to see what other media saying about Kielty before deciding which way to jump.
