When I landed to the Frankfurt airport, my booked connecting flight to DUB was gone. Instead of arriving at 9pm home as scheduled, I arrived second day at 2pm with a rebooked flight done by them, of course for free.

Did you ever get your compensation from BA? I had the same issue as yourself, submitted my claim a month ago and havent heard a thing

Yeah I get that, think they only have to cover a new connecting flight plus hotel etc. €400 on top is a bonus.

I had a delay from them last year, submitted my comp request & it took maybe 2 months (or longer, can't quite remember) but got it eventually.

Two months?...I be done the complaint while waiting for the next flight. Well, I know someone he is dealing with these cases at Lufthansa. I was lucky that it was over 1.500km , below is €250. In fact it was 1538km he said, therefore I be got €400.

    Feck…

Update. The airline (Westjet) didn't offer a damn thing. Rebooked us on an Aer Lingus flight and sent us packing. No accommodation, no nothing.

They say that the delay was due to air traffic control so not their fault and they gave me nothing but a smirk.

Did other flights take off ? Did see aer Lingus fly Man to Dub?

Ryanair aren’t responsible for our onward journey, they are just point to point . Travel

Insurance should cover the second flight

Anyone have experience getting compensation for a cancelled flight originating in France? Flight was cancelled due to "weather conditions" even though the same airline had other flights taking off from the same airport at the exact same time ours was cancelled

Just because the unnamed airline had flights taking off, you don't what weather conditions were en route or at their destinations.

Another possibility is that your incoming flight had issues (perhaps with crew going over hours) causing a knock on effect..

They said it was conditions at the departure airport.

If the issues were with the incoming flight crew, that's the airline's problem and I'm entitled to compensation

Got delayed 48 hours on American Airlines on a flight ex Dublin.

They blamed weather and rejected a claim, tried a third party claim company thinking something is better than nothing given the cut they would take. They said it was not worth pursuing given its their word against mine that it was or wasn't bad weather.

Travel insurance paid a small bit but airline avoided having to pay compensation.
