A strange growth between the tooth and the cheek

I've noticed a strange growth between my cheek and tooth. I've had it for several months; initially, I thought it was a natural structure, but I've begun to feel it more and more. I don't have it on the other side of my jaw.

When I touch it with my finger, I don't feel any pain. However, I often perceive it as a bubble in my mouth, feeling it with my lips closed.

Unfortunately, I regularly feel discomfort in that area after eating something hard, like M&Ms, or foods that require strong chewing. After such an injury, the area can hurt for several days. The tooth in that area doesn't bother me, and I can bite down on it.

What could it be? Some time ago (about 16 months), I used a lot of mouthwashes and tooth applications from the pharmacy containing ethanol. I had toothaches back then, and it provided some temporary relief.

I'm afraid that because of this, I might now have a serious issue or gum cancer.

See your dentist and get scheduled for a biopsy. Best to find out early rather than later, not sure if this is something an ordinary dentist can do or if you'll need to see a specialist.

Get a dental appointment asap, if dentist has any doubt they will refer to an oral surgeon to take a biopsy, and that procedure would be done under local anaesthetic and wouldn’t bother you much at all after. Have had oral surgeries without bother, so don’t think of being afraid of it on that count. Just make that first appointment and park your concerns, leave it to the pros. If it did turn out to be significant, it can be treated, but don’t delay any longer.

I went to a dentist, but he didn't pay much attention to it. He just said to keep an eye on it.

I went to one dentist, but they just told me to keep an eye on it. I wasn't too bothered by it at first, but this area is starting to irritate me more and more.

Try another dentist and have your GP take a look. You have been keeping an eye on it, it went from passive to irritating, which is a change in behaviour and those usually aren't for the good.

I will make an appointment with another dentist. It's possible that I'm paying more attention to it, which makes me more aware of that spot. I don't think the area has grown; it remains the same. It also doesn't change color and looks similar to the rest of the gums.

On the other hand, I don't have that, and the rest are tiny. It's quite large, and when I don't stretch the flap, I have a bulge on the gum. Is it possible that one is bigger?
