What I can't get my head around is these same people issuing death threats and threats to damage property over social media where they are fully identifiable and not a single thing appears to be done about it and it ends up escalating to events seen tonight.

Think op means why don't the guards arrest said individuals when they're clearly identifiable on social media issuing death threats etc.

All for control of the white powder, and as long as the vast numbers think sure it’s ok to “do a line” and get it for €10 a pop, there will be power struggles for the lucrative control of it!

Its happening all over the country - destroying towns & Villages in all counties.

Massive row over Cocaine Turf last week in Ennistymon, Co Clare , Fighting in Shopping Centre in Longford week before , murder at funeral min Tralee Co Kerry earlier this year , that was the only time a number were arrested & kept in Custody.

Galway might get some reaction from courts as this could impact the Tourist trade which is a mega industry for galway else some American Tourist will get their head cut off with a slash Hook!

Back in the vBulletin days there was a post of the day, basically the previous days post with the most thanks. You’d have been in the running for it with that one!!

As an ex student of UCG and a regular visitor to Galway, I find it sad to read about what's happening. Terrible publicity generated by a minority, which impacts the image of he city, who just don't care !!!

I thought the lad that got the first hop was run over a second time. I see now it was someone else the second time. There'll be murder charges brought against that driver, if they can identify who it is, but I'd imagine it's gonna be easy enough considering the amount of footage. They'll be fine though. Tough out. And he didn't see it coming so no doubt he wasn't tensed, so that probably will save him. Some hop though. I can now start believing Hollywood again.

It's technically a hit and run, as in he hit the people and ran (drove) away, but hit and run isn't an actual thing. There'd be separate offences of probably dangerous driving/murder (to be dropped to manslaughter most likely, but shouldn't) and leaving the scene of an accident. There'd also be plenty of other "minor" charges which would be taken into considering, such as insurance, car certs, seatbelt, actions between the hitting of people, etc.
