    Lol

Another conspiracy theory regarding the trial date.

Same people will tell you that him being arrested was a good thing for his re-election.

    Which is it?

The desperation of those stuck in admiration of a septuagenarian real estate mogul, trying to spin a mugshot as some folksy Rebel moment, is kinda hilarious.

"Revenge" for getting arrested and convicted of an offence? So much for the "law and order" party, or Trump's big talk about draining the swamp. And Trump's initial response was a URL grifting begging for money?

Ooh, what an outlaw. So brave. Watch out Ned Kelly, the ballads are incoming.

Remember when trump said he won the comp at bedminister with a round of 67, that was 8 strokes better than Phil Mickleson shot two weeks earlier. More Kim Jung Il vibes.

You're dismissing inconvenient facts that do not suit the Trumpster narrative.

The man you're slavishly defending is a rapist. It's been proven.

Do people not realise the President is the President of all?

Imagine if Biden ever talked about MAGA heads the way Trump speaks of the “Marxists and Liberals”.

That revenge poster is just pathetic, and his behaviour towards his opposition, who he would serve as president, should just rule him out.

And in a way, I think it will. There’s no chance the independents will swing his way, (taking away the court cases for a moment,) by making constant disparaging attacks on the other side. Most independents would have friends that are red AND blue.

It appeals to the simple minded. Nothing more.

Thats why it is "selling well". Selling Trump merchandise is shooting already dead fish in a barrel.

They'll buy any crap to worship the leader.

I wonder how the morons that bought Trump's NFT's are doing?

People say that Trump is an idiot. I would say it's more that he's totally ignorant in many respects, and petty, and hateful. However, when it comes to playing his base like an absolute fiddle, he's a master. He knew exactly what facial expression to pull in that mugshot - the scornful glare has already become emblematic. It's actually great that the subsequent design ripped off Obama's one, because it starkly shows the contrast between the movements and their mindsets.

It's also the death knell of the idea that Trumpism can ever have a new leader, because this is the point where Trump's likeness becomes a true emblem of the movement, and will forever be a reminder of who its real leader is, even after he's gone, Kim Il Sung style.

I do wonder what joy Trump gets from life. Especially given the man has more wealth than any of us will. Even someone similarly mercurial like Elon Musk still seems to have hobbies and if nothing else, gets excited about things. While plenty of past presidents had their public enthusiasms and even with morally questionable administrations like W Bush, the man himself seemed (gormlessly) affable. Heck he seems passionate about painting these days.

Trump just appears to be a bit of a humourless mean-spirited díck and apparently, can't even enjoy a bit of golf for its own sake, not without cheating beyond credibility. What makes him happy? Cheating maybe, fúcking people over cos I'm damned if I've seen any suggestion he likes things. And from what I've heard of his appearances on TV and with comedy roasts, he can't take a joke either.

    Trucks?

He seemed to have more of a sense of humour about himself in times gone past. It's mad to think about now, but he hosted SNL back in 2015 just as his presidential campaign was picking up steam, and even stood there while two Trump impersonators stood alongside him and did their thing. I'm not saying that this was his idea or that he even particularly enjoyed the parody, but was still happy enough to stand there and take it. It'd be impossible to imagine him doing something like this now.

Trump is a sexual abuser, not a rapist!

Trump could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose any voters. This he has openly said as a brag. Him violating a woman in a clothes shop one time will have as much impact on his base as a parking fine.

Most people have at least some good in them. Trump has none. He is like a hate filled balloon. Imagine living your life like that, rich or not.

I can just picture him crying and thumping the walls in depression every single night. And then when anyone is looking he tries to pull on this mask of his to hide his problems.

    It's literally none.

When his father died, Donald cut off his epileptic great nephew's healthcare because his parents contested the will as they were cut out of it.

Mary Trump talks about it in her book.

Trump was so emotionally damaged by his Father where he was constantly told that there are only "WINNERS" and "LOSERS" and Daddy would only love him if he was a winner, so everything about his life is about winning or at least refusing to accept that he has not won.

He can't just play a round of Golf for the enjoyment , he has to be the "winner" and even if he isn't he'll tell everyone that he was.

He's the kid who lies to their absentee Father and tell them that they scored the winning goal in the football match and that everybody was chanting their name even though the reality was that they sat on the bench for the whole game , because "Daddy only loves Winners".

    It's sad and pathetic.

First they came for the people who committed fraud to pay porn stars, and I did not speak out, because I hadn't committed fraud to pay a porn star.

Then they came for the people who stole classified documents, and I did not speak out, because I hadn't stolen classified documents.

Then they came for the people who conspired to steal an election, and I did not speak out, because I never conspired to steal an election.

Then nobody came for me because it turns out they were only after the major criminals

Incredible he still has so much support in the madhouse that is the US. Genuinely worrying that he has a good chance of getting in again. His polling numbers are frightingly high.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

This is a concern. It should have been more of a sure thing that Trump lost 2020, but the scale of Trump’s loss was nowhere near what it should have been given what everyone knew about the guy, and how sick of him many were within even in his first 100 days. He was soundly defeated in 2020, but he should have been mostly flattened.

Anyone invested in keeping Trump out in 2024, need to get the vote out again, watch out for shenanigans designed to rig the vote for Trump, and remind people what 4 years of Trump did to their country, and what he tried to do to end their voice in the matter.

Trump being anything north of «0» on polls is of concern. In any sane senario he should have been out of politics years ago.

He actually gained votes in 2020. Approximately ten million more than 2016. Obviously, that's only four years apart, so you can't exactly weight it for population inflation. Ten million more people than 2016 looked at Trump and either said, "Oh, yeah. Gimme some more of that." or just preferred him over his opponent.

And that's not to gloss over the fact that, probably mostly as a reaction to Trump, Joe Biden gained the most votes for any presidential candidate in history, though I don't know if that's true if you weight it vs historical population. It's still very, very high whichever way you slice it.

Overall, the story of that election was that enough people saw sense to help get Trump out of office, but the USA is very divided.

Is Rudy actually a very handsome guy ? Could his good looks help him win his trial ? A lot of the best people think yes !

The increase in votes relates more to mail-in voting and the likes, where it became a lot easier for people to cast a vote rather than going to an election centre. So it's not so much 10m more people deciding to vote for Trump due to policies etc, but more people simply being able to vote with less effort or without taking off work, finding someone to mind kids or whatever, especially where in America you can spend hours queuing to vote. The majority of those 10m people likely would have voted for Trump in 2016 if it had been more convenient.

The same is true of Biden. More people were able to vote due to the convenience. The voter turnout in 2016 was 57.3%, but 66.2% in 2020. The only comparable metric is just the overall percentage of the popular vote; Hillary had 2.1% more of the popular vote than Trump (Trump won due to electoral college), whereas Biden beat Trump with about 4.5% more of the popular vote.

There are very very few Neutrals left in the US and an even smaller number of people whos voting intentions can genuinely be altered.

The key to victory is turn-out.

Trump running will be a big boon for the Democratic party as that will heavily counter-act any potential Biden apathy , but they will still need to push very hard to make sure that as many people as possible vote.

Most people would prefer someone other than Biden , but that's not what's on offer so the focus has to be on getting people out to vote anyway and the toxicity of Trump helps there enormously.

The media reporting from the various trials along with Trumps reaction to those stories should provide all the material needed to motivate people to vote.

Things like the flip of the Wisconsin Supreme court help as well as that reduces the chances of the State Legislature pulling tricks to suppress the vote etc.

That was the most dystopian episode of SNL I have ever seen in my life or will ever see again. Half the sketches weren’t even about trying to be funny. One whole sketch was just Trump trying to pantomime being president to show people he could look presidential or something. The cast says he was hell to work with.

    ”China!”

Those jobs trump promised in Wisconsin from Foxconn never materialized. Fox News con.

In a case of everything trump touches dies, this scandal began rocking Wisconsin from day one, lost republicans the governors mansion and now control of the state Supreme Court. Wisconsin woke up real quick to his bullshit.

Interesting piece on the 14th amendment:

The big problem is that this would only feed the "stop the steal" paranoia of the MAGA crowd. Still, if a conservative SCOTUS allowed it .....?

"He said something to the effect of, 'Well, Mark wants me to let you know that he knows you're loyal and he knows you'll do the right thing tomorrow and that you're going to protect him and the boss,'"

the man mark meadows called as a character witness is the same man who tried to witness tamper Cassidy Hutchinson on the eve of her testimony to the January 6 committee.

Some Q nonsense that is doing the rounds, seems to be a variation on the 'Trump will be reinstated this year' theory that has been around for a while. I think the first 'this year' was 2021. Will all the Q-ers be out of jail by then?
