How can you be so stupid to be on a yellow then slide in like that? Can have no complaints, as much as he tried

Those iridescent crests on the Chelsea kit are awful. So distracting.

    Caceido all over the place

and now he's given a peno away. Shocking debut

    3-1 West Ham

Maybe time to stop sucking off Chelsea these last few weeks Carragher

Endo had a stormer compared to Caideo's debut, he really has been shocking since he came on.

The two 10 men home teams chalk up 3-1 wins. I wonder what the odds were for that?

3-1 West Ham game set and match Chelsea still look like a disorganised rabble. It is quite an achievement to have a team that bad having spent 900 million on their squad.

Caciedo looked like Bambi on ice.

I don't think Pocchetino "knows" at the moment who his best starting 11 are and I don't think he has thought the 3 in the back through. Chelsea will be a work in progress for the first part of the season and if they are lucky to be close enough by, say, Christmas, they may be in contention for a Champions league spot. Big plus that they don't have European football this season.

And similar to the Liverpool fans with Caicedo, I can't see what Arteta and Edu saw in Mudryk, other than his pace. Very glad we ended up with Trossard.

Broken cheekbone, plus the mandatory concussion protocol.

He's gone. Absolute shambles from United over the last few weeks.

Fair play to Utd. The correct decision.

Let him rot somewhere else. He made his bed.

Reckon he will go to a club in Saudi. Far enough away for a fresh start but still able to ply his trade at a level he will certainly get well paid for.

I am happy the club have, eventually, made the right decision and the matter has been resolved.

Less said about that bed the better, to be honest.

100% correct decision made here though. I presume that he will never play in the Premier League again. Would be interesting if he goes to a European club who end up drawn again against an English club in the near future.

And they're not overly fussed about how women are treated in that part of the world so his past won't bother them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,567 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

And more importantly, a country that shares the same values as him regarding the treatment of women.

    A perfect match.

    Absolutely the correct decision.

Bringing him back would have been a complete disaster for them. Their reputation would take a massive hit and would be a needless distraction from the football.

I expect he will look to get a contract somewhere abroad, not a hope any PL team goes near him.

This was very much a decision forced upon Manchester United make no mistake they wanted to bring him back and if it wasn't for the leaker to the athletic they would have brought him back.

All us United fans wanted him back to grab undeserved VAR decisions on a weekly basis.

That's Manchester United and us United fans for you. Evil to a man.

This could be goal of the season. Brilliant goal, he knew the chance to score was on early and was not going to go down under the efforts to slow him down.

That's not what I said at all and most fans were against him coming back to be fair but it is an absolute fact that the club wanted to bring him back. Manchester United have not refuted or denied any of The Athletics reporting on this it is absolutely clear that they wanted him back and had begun a process to bring him back.

They absolutely should not be allowed to push a narrative now of having done the right thing.

His understanding and use of space in that clip is out of this world. It’s not something that can be trained either.

For a 26 year old who was very much unknown a couple of years ago, he really has burst onto the scene in some fashion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,487 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Richard Arnold has referenced the reporting in his statement actually as one of the many possibilities that were explored and planned for.

They also refuted the original reporting previously

Edit: im not trying to convince you that your wrong in your conclusion btw. Just factually incorrect in your post

The reporting clearly states that Arnold told senior execs on the 1st of August that Greenwood would be returning to the senior squad. Thst is not exploring a possibility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 237 ✭✭DAngelo Bailey

interesting reading which clearly shows they had planned to bring him back and only backtracked because of the backlash.

Varane supposedly open to heading to SA, wonder is there much truth in it? Would leave Utd short, good job Harry is still on the books.

The statement from Man Utd tells us all what they think - "alleged victim", we have concluded.....Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged".

Disgrace. They wanted to bring him back playing for the first team again.

If it wasn't for the investigation & actions of Adam Crafton of the Athletic, and then the subsequent reaction to that by external groups such as WomensAid and most of the Man Utd fans, then he would be back playing for the club with his pre-recorded PR video bad tailored training photographs curated by the club to paint him in a positive light.

There were accounts that Eric Ten Haag wanted him back playing too, which questions his character. Especially after he publicly offered support to Marc Overmars after his misconduct of a similar nature.

At least most of the Man Utd fans have an actual morale compass, unlike those in charge at the club.

    Will Newcastle sign Greenwood?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,882 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Horrendous statement from United, but still definitely a good news story in terms of people’s voice mattering (even though we all know it only mattered because it was considered an acceptable sacrifice).

The Athletic had a massive role in this. They leaked the story the other day which outlined Utds plan to bring him back.

The backlash from that leak has forced Utds hand as it had turned out to be a PR disaster. Good decision all around, and great to see the likes of Greenwood turfed out.

    Super reporting from the Athletic.

BTW, the statements from Utd and Greenwood were poor, and that's being kind.
