Converting Nihola Family to electric

    Hello,

I am about to begin the process of converting our new (secondhand) Nihola Family Cargo bike to electric.

I haven't done this before, but I can follow instructions, and I very much have a "how hard can it be"?

The budget is €1000. I was looking at a mid drive bafang motor, but someone has said that they have a tendency to burn out the gears in the rear hub of the Nihola Family...

More research is needed, if you've done a conversion like this before, I would love to hear from you.

I'm going to have to learn how to service this myself, as my local bike shop will only service bikes they have sold. My next nearest bike service shop is 40km away, which is no good. It's one of the downsides to living in the countryside.

I have nothing to contribute, but will be interested to see how you get on!
