"I can't defend him directly anymore, so I'll make as many vapid contrarian comments as I possibly can"

What's fantastic is, the GOP have hitched themselves so much to Trump, that he's going to take it down with him. They will hobble into the next election.

Good news. No one is jailing their political opponent in this case.

The concept of justice is that it needs to be blind. Having a career shouldn't give political immunity (though a few like Burlosconi tried to argue as much as they defrauded their country).

That's absolute bullshít. Trump did all he could do to remain in power. That's what the whole Stop The Steal, alternate electors and asking Georgia to create votes for him out of thin air. It's why he tried to get Mike Pence not to certify the election.

Are you unaware of these actions or are you somehow unable to understand the intent behind those actions in relation to remaining in power?

In all likelihood Trump won’t be thrown in jail unless he is convicted and duly sentenced, or if he continues to brazenly defy his pre trial conditions. There has been no real effort to jail him for political effect ahead of being proven guilty or not; and if anything it’s somewhat a practical matter, he’s got criminal cases to answer in FL, GA, NY, and DC. The prisoner transfers would be a sonnofabitch to drag him around to all his various trials.

Trump knows this though and he knew it from his arraignment in FL, the DOJ wasn’t going to so much as put an ankle monitor on him. There seems to be some amount of effort by him to “scrupulously” (as his current lawyer put it) see where the line is on his various gag orders at this point and see if he can get jailed in a way that makes it look like he’s being politically persecuted and not simply being met with the consequences of his own actions. That’s why you hear rape defenders practically giddy about him being in a jail cell simply so they can abuse the current administration of being the fascists here.

But but but.. The fat man-child Rapist wasn't filmed screaming and holding on to the door frame by his finger-nails as burly Federal agents maced him and physically dragged his corpulent body out so that means that he left "willingly".

    Or something.

With NO evidence of election fraud (This is a proven fact)

"It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???"

“We are going to win four more years. And then after that, we’ll go for another four years because they spied on my campaign. We should get a redo of four years,”

“And 52 days from now we’re going to win Nevada, and we’re going to win four more years in the White House. And then after that, we’ll negotiate, right? Because we’re probably – based on the way we were treated – we are probably entitled to another four after that,”

“Make sure because the only way we’re going to lose this election is if the election is rigged. Remember that. It’s the only way we’re going to lose this election, so we have to be very careful.”

    Just a few. Questions?

And yet you started today by posting a video of Trump making numerous claims without any evidence and with an upcoming trial to try to influence.

At least try to be less hypocritical.

He’s aware he is just bored and hates that mint ice cream man is POTUS. 2+ years with Biden already still waiting on that ‘apocalypse’ user alludes to

starting to feel like the Red Brigades who used to kidnap judges back in the day.

First Trump denigrates particular judges and then his Zombie Brigades go after his enemies on his account.

"Turbulent priests " ? **(or is Shakespeare cancelled in Florida now?)

** Who was that ? Henry8 or one of the other English Kings Trump would maybe like to emulate.?

Edit Henry2 back in 1170 (Thomas Beckett) -almost 1000 years ago.

The "turbulent priest" quote comes from Henry II in reference to Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury who had been installed as a cipher but had become more and more willing to stand up for the Church against the King. The quote was mistaken for an order to kill the Archbisjop.

Well vexatious litigant Donald Trump would sue her for defamation of it wasn’t true right? I mean the rapist went after his victim for saying he raped her. Why wouldn’t he for this?

The Big Orange One; is that a sequel to The Big Red One?

For all their shtick about the weakness of wokeness, the idea that an adult can actually look at this pathetic man-child and not see he's the biggest snowflake in history is beyond me.

I genuinely believe that you can out put Trump supporters into four categories; Republicans who can't stand the man but hold their nose because the vote Republican regardless, genuinely pathetic people who treat him as some sort of surrogate mouthpiece for their warped views because they're too pathetic to speak for themselves, the monumentally stupid or brain-damaged, and those that see him as a religious figure coming to prepare and turn America into the great Christian paradise for the imminent coming of Jesus.

I can only conclude that because I can't see in any way shape of form something to be admired in that man. He is a man-child snowflake of the highest order. Which says quite something about the people that support him.

Yeah. He’s the typical give it but can’t take it blow hard.

If the so called Culture Wars have shown anything, it's that those who scream and shout loudest about Wokeness as weakness or something poisonous, tend to be the largest snowflakes quickest to offence.

Maybe it's just the whole thing of equality feeling like oppression for those used to preference, but the inability of many right of centre to take criticism or mockery is always very noteworthy. That said, Trump has always been incredibly thin skinned and even before his political career, stories abounded about his insecurity

Is there a photo of him from the last 10 years which couldn't be described as "the big 'orange' one"?

Rudy going down in flames also

Pissing off the base. This is going to be a coronation for Biden at this rate.

Electorally Donald Trump is the Democratic Party's best friend since he will either run as the Repub candidate and lose or act as a spoiler for Ron DeSantis.

He should have called it a day in 2022 when his handpicked candidates lost their races.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,370 ✭✭✭✭ancapailldorcha

I think a lot of lower class white conservatives are unable to conceive of themselves as anything other than superior because of their race and religion. Since it's literally all that they have, any perceived attempts at altering the status quo are met with a hateful response.

When did the whole orange thing begin? I've seen footage of him from long ago when he seems to be somewhat lucid and a lot paler?

It cannot be overstated how important it is that nutters like Lake and Mastriano lost their elections in 2022.

Imagine the absolute wholesale fraud that would go on in either State to ensure a Trump win.

And Roger Stone right there beside him in that photo.

Both of them corpulent old men desperately trying to pretend that they are young and virile.

“The purpose of that impeachment, from my standpoint, is not to force a vote that loses,” he said during a Twitter Space on Monday night. “It’s to put on a trial in the Senate, and by the way, not for the sake of conviction.”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,236 ✭✭✭mcmoustache

The Republicans are stuck with him. His rabid base aren't into anything but Trump and the republicans need those numbers. That's why they can't cut him loose.

DeSantis is a no-hoper. The more people get to know him, the less liked he is.

Genuinely not sure if they are guaranteed to be able to get it out of the House to have their sham trial in the Senate.

With only a 4 vote majority it wouldn't take much at all for it to fail, which would be excruciatingly embarrassing for them.

That’s the thing. The neocons like GWB and GHWB lost the confidence of the country and the Tea party movement never really gained it so for decades democracy hasn’t worked for them so they turned to a (quoting batman twice in a week) turned to a man they didn’t fully understand, who wasn’t vulnerable to shame or antisociopathic feelings of remorse or guilt, someone who could be the instrument to take control of government for their ends regardless of not having the votes. They won’t leave him now because frankly, none of the other guys have their confidence for their objective, which is a White Christian ethnostate.

Where have you found this consensus for a white, Christian ethnostate amongst Trump supporters?

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say with The Apprentice. He probably hated how white he looked under the studio lights every week and started slathering on the bronzer to compensate.

Trump probably knows he looks ridiculous, but it's all about having a unique brand for him.
