I was offered this during the presale at 5.30pm and turned it down to be paying €260 for an upper tier ticket plus charges

Whats more the seats are in Block 716 and 720, they look like they could be restricted view with the speaker stacks certainly Block 716.

So restricted view upper tier nosebleeds at the opposite end of the stadium.

Platinum is now described as "The Event Organiser has priced these tickets according to their market value"

But there is no secondary market in Ireland anymore and selling above face value is illegal so how can 410 euro be market value, what market ??

A lot of people here seem to think increased, market driven prices are acceptable, with one poster going as far to say we are underpaying for gigs.

I wonder if I was to pick up a couple of tickets on the many upcoming ticket drops for face value and sell them for an inflated price which I deem fair and ethical, such as 390e a piece, plus my handing and delivering and mandatory toilet paper gift wrap fee.. Would there be a issue with the IDIOTS defending this absolutely heinous behaviour!?

You'd almost wonder if there is there a lawsuit there somewhere. This is no more than a dirty loophole which should be closed by the government.

Granted, Ticketmaster and the band are entitled to sell them for whatever they want to sell them for. But it completely undermines the spirit of the law.

Not to mention there will still be plenty of these touted for higher than asking price.

Better off having a Coldplay concert via YouTube premium on the 55” 4k telly in your house with all your friends around and spend the ticket price on beer and disco lights that change colour 🤣🤣

There was Upper Hogan Tickets last night available. Row C. The exact same row and seats for both Sunday and Monday night.

    €390 a pop each.

Or see it in the cinema, they streamed one of the Buenos Aires shows to cinemas last year.

The stream is out there, in the usual places.

    Interesting.

Works out a hell of a lot cheaper either way.

honestly unless you had great seats at the gig that would genuinely be a better option.

That bit where Martin stops A Sky Full of Stars and asks people to put away their phones is wearing thin now, he seems to do it every bloody night.

I'm sure he was up to the same stunt on the 2017 tour.

This is beyond a joke! Those 2 together probably cost roughly 222 euros including booking fees etc..635 euros profit! 317.50 euros each on profits per ticket! Scandalous!

They are still better value than those Platinum tickets

I was at one of the Buenos Aires gigs last year. Seemed like the whole stadium knew what was coming. Apparently had done the "no no stop, we can do better than this I think" spiel exactly the same every night.

He also did an abnormal amount of pontificating about social issues and life on the night. Way more than you'd see from Bono. I'd say he was on less of a curfew time wise there though than Croker, and also the stadium was dry (no alcohol sales) so I'm guessing there might be less of it with a drunker crowd and one more likely to take off for the bar.

Still an incredible gig all the same

    Jesus that's mad

Maybe a few added charges going to Croke Park or something as well as usual Ticketmaster fees

Premium section in Croker is second up from the lower (section 4). Seats are sold in 3-5 year blocks to GAA fans and they're given the option to buy concert tickets. It's sold as one of the perks!! The option to buy 220 quid tickets to seats that don't work all that well for concerts

From what I can see he does it every night of the tour.

It's funny reading some posts giving out about Coldplay or CM in particular. Their concerts are a show, an experience, and there's only so much an act can do to get a crowd involved. So if he asks the crowd to put their phones away, or says something he has said a thousand times before, so what?

I've seen Riverdance before, and guess what? They do the same dancing at every single show. Unbelievable 😅

As long as acts have been performing, they've been telling that particular crowd that their nations fan's are the best in the world, and so be it. Who cares? I've been to other gigs where the act comes on, sings their songs, and bolts. I'd take Coldplay every time.

I'm all for giving out about the prices, but if ye don't like the band or their show, don't go 🤷‍♂️

We should be happy they've even bothered to come back after their Croker gig when some tool decided to throw a bottle at JB, smacking him in the head. The band could've rightly walked off, but continued, and what a concert it was.

    €€€ talks

Axl Rose fucked off in 2010 after some gimp through a bottle on stage at him in Dublin but he was back 2 years later all smiles

Sorry folks, anyone know anything about the cheap tickets being given out??

Not available until next year it seems. I was trying to see how they have been sold previously, as I don't think they have any spcific requirements when purchasing, but you have to collect in person on the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 653 ✭✭✭Avon8

Are you ok? You seem quite vexed about things

There was two posts about CM's actions and an acknowledgement that it's still an incredible gig. Not sure there was anything negative, just saying that there's a repetitive nature to the supposedly 'in the moment' halt of the gig. I think the fact that people are active on the thread shows they're going, or at least are interested in doing so. Can't wait to see them again personally

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 391 ✭✭giseva

A bit early in the AM for fishing, but go on. All good, thanks for asking. What are the required number of posts that warrant being "vexed" about things?

It's a show, repetitive? Absolutely, but it seems to work for them. Not vexed, if you read my post you would see I found some posts funny, and made an observation about a certain individual who could've ruined a concert by throwing a bottle and striking a band member.

I wouldnt hold out much hope for the Infinity tickets unfortunately.

They tend to announce when they will go on sale in advance so its likely to be more pandemonium with the queues.

They also don't sell many of them.

They have had a tendency to release more normal priced tickets when they also put the Infinity tickets on sale and there will be plenty of drops too.
