One for those watching any kind of sports:

    "You couldn't write this script!!!!!"

It usually follows events occuring in a game/match/event which would be the most clichéd thing you could possibly think of for a movie/tv script, ie:

The underdog racecar driver driving for a team with no hope of winning goes on to....you guessed it....win the race after a series of incredible occurrences.

Or a football team are losing, and down and out and half time but....guess what....they come back and......win in the dying embers of the game!

You'd never see anything like that in a movie or tv show 🙄

"it's not as bad as it looks", Oh yes it is!

'A dead cert' or 'A sure thing', Oh no it's not!

I like that. It's a good collective noun. No fear of excluding anyone unless you're puritanical about 'lads' meaning males only.

    "Only god can judge me"

No im judging you and you are a cnut.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

I swear on my mother or kids' lives that a certain thing is true. When I was about 12 I said that. Occasionally I hear adults say that now. It means nothing, I believe the opposite when I hear it. In court people have sworn on the bible to tell the truth, whole truth etc. How many people have lied after that oath

Americans adding the word "Period" at the end of a sentence to reinforce their point.

    Revert

People using that in the office need to be slapped.

I cannot revert to you, I have never BEEN you.

I had a manager who used it all over the place.

"John called me with a problem opening xyz application, will you revert to him there"

I pronounce both with a "zhuzh" sound rather than a "H"

I also dont pronounce Barcelona as bahrsssshhalhonaa, so accuracy to the source material isn't my forte

"...in this space", as in (from today's news) https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2023/0809/1398789-ai-council/ :

"Not just people in the tech sphere, we want people from right across society with an interest and with experience in this space, that they can bring their life experience to the table to advise Government on."

And a special mention also for "...is, is...", as in"... the reason is, is..."
