2023 UCI Road World Championship Thread

It doesn't look like a great course tbh. Very technical circuit

I've only been to the Worlds once (Innsbruck 2018) and I always tell people who would like to see elite level racing that the Worlds are the best event to go to as you will see multiple races on consecutive days (never mind the beer, excellent viewing points and general party atmosphere around the host city). Even the order of races from junior-U23-senior made it easy to remember when races would be on. This timetable is crap and a bit difficult to understand the logic.

Edit: OK, the logic is they want all road races on the weekends (maybe to attract bigger local crowds) but that makes it unlikely for travelling fans to see more than 2 races unless they hang around Glasgow for 9 days...

You would LOVE to see Sam pull the performance of a lifetime out of the bag.

It would be some story.

Can't see it coming close to happening but it might just be my favourite ever win if it did.

British city centres generally are not great places to plan a race.

Traditionally full of right angles and made worse by psychotic town planners. Generally pretty ugly places too by European standards.

Much like Yorkshire it's only the rain will make a race of this.

Who actually picks the course. If it's British Cycling is a surprise they keep making these almost sprinters courses.
