Shower pump (in hot press) not working

Well not the best start to the week, turned on the shower this morning and feck all pressure. This has happened once before when I was away for two months but the shower was used this weekend and working fine.

The pump definitely didn't kick in. Opened hot press and there's that electrical smell, not burning but definitely heat. The pump was hot to touch. I'm not sure if either of these are normal as I don't open the hot press very often. But I'm guessing the pump is on its last legs. I've turned the power off and will try again tonight but I'm guessing it's a replacement job.

Any idea what kind of price I'm looking at, this is not a good time for this to happen but it is what it is. I'm terrified that it will leak, the guy who replaced my boiler told me a horror story of a house he was at earlier that day where a pump failed and flooded the house.

Fwiw the pump is 19 years old (which I know is well beyond a normal life span) but my ex FIL was a plumber before he got ill so he would have put in something very decent and there would have been 2 showers a day for the first 9 years and 1 shower a day since so not as heavy usage as a family would have.

19 years is a very good lifespan for a shower pump.

I replaced ours last year, new pump was around 400, probably spent another 100 or so on bits and pieces to get it to fit correctly. In theory it's straightforward enough to replace but that assumes a straight swap, in my case I had to extend some of the pipework for the new pump.
