If they win, there could be lots of retirements. Cluxton, Fitzsimons, McCarthy, Rock, Mannion, McCaffrey.

    Even Dessie Farrel might leave.

The only fella I would think that has a good chance of staying from that group is McCarthy - his enthusiasm/standard/fitness have never dipped and he is still a crucial cog in the Dublin team.

Maybe Fitzsimons could be persuaded to stay- given that Dublin are are not blessed with his standard of defenders.

But Cluxton, Mannion and McCaffery have already retired once - and Rock will not likely be happy just playing as sub. So I would be amazed if those four stay on for another year.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Interesting, I would have thought the Kerry midfield were more than a match for Dublin's. To me Dublin have struggled for a midfielder to be on the same consistent high level as Fenton - Lahiff - P'O'CB were tried etc.

But at the same time, there is not much between both midfields particularly when McCarthy drops in as well - as you say. Kerry seem to rave about Moynihan in the middle, after been worried about David Moran replacements.

It should help that Howard is Fenton's clubmate so hopefully there should be that level of understanding if things get to panic stations down the last 5/10 minutes, from a Dublin point of view.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Something tells me Dublin will shade it. Just a bit more rounded, inc the subs bench. Looking forward to it. May the best team win!

Did anyone hardly see anything pop up on ticketmaster today? I have been keeping an eye out but haven't seen anything! I'm sure it is unlikely that they will go up on it but Desperate times and that!

A lot of the neutral pundits rowing in behind Dublin so far

    Dublin (8)

    Joe Brolly by 6

    Davy Burke

    Colm O Rourke

    Wooly Parkinson

    Keith Higgins

    Brendan Devenney

    Colm Boyle

    Anthony Moyles

    Kerry (2)

    Aaron Kernan

    Conor McManus

What Moynihan do kerry rave about in midfield? I'm not sure we have a midfield option called Moynihan.

Only options that are fit are Barry and O Connor to start with O Sullivan on the bench.

That is who I meant. My brain must be fried already - bad sign and the Dublin flag won't stay on the window.

Would anyone have any idea if tickets might still go up on Ticketmaster today or tomorrow? Last year I managed to get 2 at 12pm but no sign of them up today at all yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,714 ✭✭✭dobman88

Doesn't look likely at this stage. A lot of Kerry clubs posting on social media that they won't have enough to meet demand. Add that in with the Dubs 1st final in a couple of years and it makes the demand huge again.

Best bet might be hoping to get one on the day if you're in Dublin. Things will happen on the day and people won't be able to travel for whatever reason

Cluxton, Fitzsimons and McCarthy are the 3 going for 9, aye?

Why don't the gaa move the trow in time to 2 instead of 330 no minor match before hand would give any team the option of going back home that evening in good time like limerick last weekend and supports would make it home before dark most probably

For people who like the whole TV experience, they would have to start watching the build up at 1 o'clock. I have no way of knowing, but my feeling is that it would have fewer viewers at 1 o'clock compared to 2.30. It probably is more attractive for the advertisers on RTE to keep it as it is. A big consideration for RTE, as I think it is one of the events which they charge the most for, along with the Toy Show.

aside from that if you go up to the match its nice to have a few pints before hand. Usually stay the Sunday night

Are the tickets for the final 'proper tickets' (old style physical ones), or are they print outs of QR codes like every other match?

If they are print outs or screenshots is there any way of knowing that they haven't been copied?

I think it's the former, just want to be sure they haven't changed it for this year.

Out of pocket for a ticket this year. You reckon there's any point in looking around the stadium? Never had to scout around before.

Outside of The Gresham and outside The Sunset House in Summerhill is a good bet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,714 ✭✭✭dobman88

    Depends where they're coming from.

In a club, they'll be physical tickets.

    Season tickets are QR codes/screenshots.

Dublin to win this handy enough. I think 6+ points.

I had a look at the betting on Friday, and again just now 4.20 pm Saturday, no change. Kerry are slight favourites. Best odds on Kerry 11/10 with Boyle, and best Dublin 5/4 with Paddy Power.

I do kit think you even get physical tickets from clubs.....not ones outside the competing counties anyway

Got a ticket out of the local club for the match. It was a e Printed ticket.

Is row UU in cusack restricted viewing due to the ceiling or not. Long time since I’ve been back that far. I think it is where they’ve got the tv

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭Grats

It's only restricted viewing of the big screens from what I know. You'll be under cover from any rain!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,292 ✭✭✭blowitupref

Don't care who wins, I like most neutrals will be hoping for a competitive contest that goes down to the wire. The bookies and their punters are suggesting that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,088 ✭✭✭Trampas

Wasn’t sure if you can see the far side of pitch or not. That’s if my eyes can see that far. I’ll be dry is a positive bar getting to the ground

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭Grats

There's no problem seeing the far side of the pitch. Well, with decent eyesight! Enjoy.

Two pairs of club men up against each other in midfield (Raheny- Fenton and Howard. Na Gaeil- O'Connor and Barry). Surely a first?
