2019! You have a way to go yet. I started this thread in 2017 but I got my G4 another way. My colleagues are still waiting for theirs to be approved through the HSE application. Ridiculous!!

Would you believe I got a date for my job evaluation assessment.. In three days 🙏 hopefully it will be straight forward. Hope your colleagues have have got approved.

1 has. 1 other has been contacted but nothing else. The other 2 have heard nothing at all. I'm now putting in for a 5 it's been that long lol

Hi, what was the interview like for the job evaluation? My application has been signed off by my grade 7 and 8 and gone into HR. How long then does it take after interview, to get your upgrade - for your salary to increase?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,202 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

When it's signed off by your hr etc it goes to the HSE for evaluation. They are currently working on applications submitted over 2 years ago. You won't be getting an upgrade any time soon I'm afraid!

Oh really, it's already been over a year ro get to this point! Do you know if they backpay once approved to submiitance date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,202 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

Unfortunately not. It might be backpaid a couple of months from what I recall from others I have seen. It could be decision date to actual notification date but I can't remember

Is anyone considering going down this route as a result of the new IFMS invoice management. I am considering it, how detailed do you have to be on the application form, l heard managers still have the control here as to whether it even gets signed off for consideration. My 5 does not and could not even do half the work I do and I think they would not like my application to go anywhere foe this reason. Any help or examples with this process or form very welcome Thanks in advance. 😊

Hello everyone, my colleague and I are hoping to submit this form but we don’t know where to even start with the answers. Does anyone have a copy that they wouldn’t mind sharing to get an idea of how to structure our responses. We work in ED and lately we are been asked to do some of the work of the grade IV while they are on leave. We seem to be a secretary and admissions all in one along with taking patients payments as they cannot get to accounts during 9-5 to pay bills also.

    thank you all

You need to be doing the 'extra' jobs for 2 years to qualify from what I can remember and it can't be ad hoc, needs to be part of your role. Now I have included when I fill in for others as well however my own role should qualify for an upgrade on it's own merit. Fingers crossed!

Bear in mind applications are signed off by your manager. Took us weeks to complete mine - HR even helped with suggestions

Hi , did you get anywhere with a copy of this I am currently applying and maybe we can exchange ideas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,202 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

Finally received an email that my evaluation is in the next group. I will be getting 'the' call in the next couple of weeks. Anyone got any idea what they ask? Im assuming its just basically to verify the information you supplied on the application form? TIA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Marsha

how did you get on. Did they upgrade you? Did you apply to be upgraded to a specific grade or is it the evaluator who decides the grade. I am doing my application at the moment. How long did the process take altogether? TIA .

    good luck 👍

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,202 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

    It's a specific grade. Your application is from a 3 to a 4 or 4 to a 5. Etc

Hi, I work as a Clerical officer and am really interested in moving up a grade. Can someone please explain this evaluation to mr please? I never heard of it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14 MartyC286

I did get upgraded eventually, took over three years as covid happened in the middle of it so they paused the JE. I went from a grade III to a IV. Best of luck!

Learn your JE application form off, my assessment was through zoom I have heard it's a lot more straightforward now by telephone. Is it a grade V your going for. Best of luck!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,202 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

Yep grade v. Had the call last week. A couple of questions on my autonomy which was fairly straightforward and how many staff we have. Said the report would be sent on and I would hear in a few weeks. So fingers crossed!

Can I ask do you go in at the same increment as your current post on payscale or to the nearest amount in the new grade?

Did you stay at the same increment in the new grade or did you go back to the nearest to your old one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Marsha

Really, I am a 3, I did not see that on the form, what if your doing work and approving payments that have a higher authority requirement than the next grade, ie grade 4 has authority to approve, (according to the nfrs). Surely then they need go to the appropriate grade especially if you have been doing it the 2 years, otherwise they should take this level work away. Interesting, will have to wait and see what happens.

Has anyone been upgraded and wasn’t in the post for 4 years? As per circular if the job is upgraded and you haven’t been in the post 4 years or more the job goes out to the panel and you are moved to another grade 3 post?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Farm25

I haven’t heard of this happening, but it does say it is possible in the circular.
would be a big disappointment after going through the full process

Mine took place just after 4 years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 sally555

How did you get on with this query? My post just got upgrades but I'm only in the post 3 years....what happens now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 katieg2601

I am considering filling out application but only in job 2.5 years worried what will happen after as I am not yet 4 years - could my job go to someone else? Has anyone else been in same position?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 sally555

I've now been told I need to apply to my own job going out to campaign, I haven't a clue what happens next. I'm 3 years n 1 months in the job but getting a THA back dated till April when ive my phone call from the JE team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 auris12

That's lousy! How long did the JE process take overall?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 lookingforhelp123_

hi. Example of upgrade from grade 3 to 4 .. You have to be in your current position for 4 years before applying for an upgrade. If you are upgraded before the 4 years, your position is then advertised on the grade 4 panel and should anyone on the panel apply for your position it will be awarded to them and you will be reassigned to another grade 3 position.

If you are on the grade 4 panel, make sure you are within the top 5 and hopefully retain your job.
