Verona Murphy making a total arse of herself here.

Kielty gets the €250k no matter if he is good or bad. So I don't think it's a ridiculous question.

It’s “completely obvious”, says Adrian Lynch, that Noel Kelly knew when issuing invoices for years 2 and 3 that Renault had pulled out and he was asking RTÉ to issue the payment in their place.

Kelly insisted on Tuesday that he and Tubridy believed the Renault deal still held.

The Grant Thornton report found evidence of a conference call between RTÉ and NKM, in March 2022, to discuss overdue payments to [Tubridy] for €75,000” for years 2 and 3.

In that light it is hard to credit that Kelly still believed the Renault deal held up.

Adrian Lynch says RTE has records of a Teams call between Forbes, Kelly, and nobody else

Noel Kelly said on Tuesday he has never had a solo meeting with her

Verona is off on a solo dive for no purpose whatsoever

Missed the start but gather that RTE turned up this morning with details of emails they've never mentioned previously and stating that other information is being withheld over concerns of legal privilege? Is that right, after 3+ weeks??

Course its a ridiculous question. We cannot judge whether it's value or not either way yet.

    Shes awful...shes confused herself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,021 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

Basically, though Lynch claimed that the emails had been sent to a dropbox and they do not know why they were not forwarded to the committee members.

Verona Murphy doing an awful job here. I can barely even follow what point she's trying to make, and not giving them enough of a chance to answer a question that she can then follow up on or clarify. She ran down her own clock.

Verona asks a question, doesn't allow them to answer and somehow thinks it's some sort of gotcha moment. 🤡

Bakhurst & Lynch getting lambasted. Now the quiet man with hopefully some incisions into this house of cards that is RTE.

Untruths and Mistruths maybe but no lies surely

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Is Kevin knowingly lying when he says the other two are unwell when we all know they are not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

Bakhurst says he wants the best talent at the best price... there's the door for Mr.Tubridy as he fails on both counts.

And bye, bye Noel Kelly. Make your dosh elsewhere.

Not watching but glimpsed a small bit of Verona Murphy's input on Tuesday and she started on about what she should call Tubridy or something. 🙄

    Yeah, that was important. Not.

I’m back to back all day, won’t be able to catch up until much later.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Running down the clock seems to be a tactic in this whole chimpanzee tea party- it’s much better to ask a question and get a detailed response- its the responders answer that will influence the report produced from this committte. If the answer is “I care for all the children in Ireland” when the question is “What steps did you take to correct your public salary statement” - then so be it- the report will rightly slate that individual.

Not giving them a chance to answer is an own goal on the committee

That’s the most sense I’ve heard on the subject

Mr.Bakhurst is riding and sitting on many fences. No indication at all that he intends much change other than cosmetic.

This committee are right to grill him.

    It's all very confusing

If Renault were paying Ryan , why didn't they just pay him direct?

Why did Renault need RTE to pay Ryan?

Wonder how junior that staff member is, if they are a qualified accountant they could be under some bother.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

RTE floundering, refusing to acknowledge who gave instructions to junior staff to request corrupt invoicing. This protectionism/ circle the wagons of senior staff is scandalous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,021 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

Surely it was O'Learys PA, I thought that had been clarified in previous hearings?

I can't imagine a qualified accountant is working as a PA in sales.

Ryan “Man Of The People” Turbidy has billed RTE for a weeks work he hasn’t done.

You actually couldn’t make this up

Alan Kelly is great at this to be fair. Nails them very early on.

It is horribly confusing and there is no doubt that there are missing links. Forbes and O'Keefe and Jennings should be here.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Iirc, when the FAI were dragged in front of the committee, one of the Healy Raes started off his turn with a long-winded speech praising the work John Delaney did for junior football in Ireland before asking him a question that was hardly more challenging than 'What's your name?'

Certain types will see this as their fifteen minutes of fame and make it about themselves as much as possible.

He said, she said, he said, he said, she said...

FFS...just get the gardai involved and watch them all sing like canaries.

Forbes is laughing at this I'd say, how she was able to walk off scot free and let the rest deal with it.
